We have a Honda fit, 5spd, we bought new in 07. 255k on it and we've done nothing but brakes, valve adjustment, plugs/wires and a new serpentine belt a couple years ago. My wife still puts over 300 miles a week on it, has never let her down. Probably the most economical purchase we've ever made, it feels like the car is paying us every time we drive it.

At least with a manual transmission you usually know if something is going bad, most the time you aren't stranded
