I played mites through high school. Then went the other direction and wore the stripes for 20 years.

Had this mask formed to my face in 1971...played on the travel Midget team (15 years old ) ...then Town team through High School....our high school didn’t have a hockey team. I practiced with College guys after High School ....then the Beer Leagues ...and hung up the pads at 26. Then put them on again at age 40 for a dozen games.

This is the last pic of my pads....I donated them to a men’s league about 5 years ago

Played 2 years Squirts, aged 8-10 or thereabouts. Then didn't play for a long long time. Recently started playing Beer League in Fairbanks at age 50, currently 57 and bummed that season is cancelled. I miss it and I miss by hockey chums.

Played from age 2 until 27. Non hockey related knee injury slowed me down and I quit because I couldn’t play to a level I was used to. Sure miss playing but now I watch or help coach my son.

Played right wing through high school. Our team wasn't connected to the school, they considered hockey players derelicts. Being right on the border, we played as many Canadian teams as we did American. Had some excellent players. I haven't been skating in three years and I sure miss it.

I played up until age 53, my last season in the beer leagues. Left D. After finally having both knees replaced a couple years later, my first question for the surgeon was, "Will I be able to skate?" I was seriously bummed when he said definitely not. I miss it still, 15 years later.

Funny, when I saw the title I thought you were calling out any pros, semis or maybe college/university players. Posing that question to rural Ontarians would be a bit like asking if anyone went to public school. It's a massive part of the youth culture here, probably much like basketball would be in the US. grin Ryan, great pic of your lad, looks like he takes his game seriously!

Lots of pond hockey as kids. School didn't have a team, but played on a club in high school

FYI
I had a friend who always drove his pickup with a hockey stick stuck in the stakehole near the cab. I asked him about it and why he carried it. He replied that it was like a flag to let others know he was a hockey fan/player.

Kinda a cool way to show your colors to others.

Having spent a bit of time inCanada, mostly YT, BC, and AB, I can definitely say that hockey is a way bigger deal in Canada. than basketball is in any area of US I've ever been in. I always bring Moosehead/Kokanee/Labatts in cans to share post game. Canadian beer out of respect!

Played from age of 5 until age of 15.House league then all star league.
Quit at the peak of my career when I moved north-the bush was my calling.
Played a couple years in the mens league.Got into it when I started hanging around the rink when my son was young and playing the game.
