no they should be fine , I always use victor 1-3/4 , was my go to trap for fox

Never used a Duke. Caught them in Victor # 2 coils just fine. Also #3 montgomery #3 jumps #3 longsprings. So I'm sure you would be good.

I would use them dukes i catch and hold coyotes in them.Might have to change em on a remake bent dogs and such.

If you're talking about the round jaw trap I noticed that all my duke #2 and #1 3/4 are all exactly the same size down to the 1/32. I just buy the #1 3/4 now cause they're cheaper.

I thought the regular jawed version was rough on red fox. I have mine OS jaws and laminated and do fine- even better than MB 550's. And, I have not lost a single animal from them (probably 100 coyotes) in addition to fox and coons.

Turn up the jaw ends with a pair of vise grips since you have coyotes in your area. Keeps the jaws in the frame.
