I love mine. Had it for a little over a year. It's a Pioneer 700. A little pricey but should've bought one years ago. It's a southern trapping machine.

I have a Polaris, my boss has a Kawasaki his uncle has a Honda. I'd choose the Honda if I bought another one.

Bought mine in late December. Absolutely love it. Gets great mileage, rides nice and works hard. Couple of things I wish Honda would have done: 1. Put a box on the back. 2. Put a real roof on it (they come with fabric that rips when its on the trailer going at highway speeds. 3. Put a windshield on the blasted thing for crying out loud.

Once I got done accessorizing mine, its a real nice machine . . . but then I've been a Honda man for decades.

Yep...Honda leaves off the roof and windshield hoping you purchase their's...which I did....$$$

Gotta step up one size to get the bed standard...those 500s dont come with it but there are decent aftermarket beds.

Bought a hitch extension, cargo rack, and built a critter basket on it to keep the blood, pee, and crap out of my bed and off my gear...

Ya, I agree . . . plenty of aftermarket stuff available. And I'd understand if Honda's price was significantly lower than other machines because you could argue that they are doing it to save YOU money, but that's not the case. They've omitted those things but they still charge the going rate for their machines.

Oh, and the first thing I would make sure I had on any UTV as a trapper/hunter is the LED light bar. Absolutely love that thing.

Another necessity the Hondas dont come with are front and rear a-arm guards. A bent axle from a tree limb getting caught in there will be $$. A-arm guards cost $90 for a pair but they are a smart purchase.

I like my Pioneer 700 once I got it racked up and replaced the cheap plastic bed with a more useful one, Also have a rack to carry drowning rods. I got the roof and windshield and a winch added when I bought it. I designed and had the rest fabricated because nobody seemed to have suitable racks etc. for the Honda.

The front rack is removable, just pull 4 pins and lift off. The drown rod brackets are removable, just 4 pins. The bed is a little taller than the stock plastic at 15" and is almost a foot wider inside but the outside is still inside the frame. It also still dumps easily when the tubes are not full of trap stakes close to the front. The bottom of the factory bed was not bad but the sides were not conducive to being able to mount anything with the 4" hollow wall plastic. So I took it all off, extended the sides and completely rebuilt the box using 3/4" marine grade plywood. As you can see, I can now mount what I need to the sides and keep things organized much better.

And I can haul critters on the front rack and they do not get mud slung all over them like they would in the back. I will likely make a few more tweaks but it is a darn sight better now than it was.

Tracy, if you tackle that, a suggestion or two......

Make the side and front rails higher. Also make them perpendicular to the bottom of the rack. I may eventually redo mine to incorporate those 2 things. I would make them tall enough I could set a 5 gallon bucket in the rack without it flipping over.

Good suggestions. I already thought about the front and side rails being higher. I really want mine to haul deceased critters so I can keep all my gear relatively clean in the back. Great idea.

There’s a place in New Hampshire that has Honda 2019 Honda 1000 pioneers for $10,999.00 on sale. Three person model without the roof.

There is an aftermarket front rack made for the 500 that sits level. Should be able to Google it and find the dealer. I'm still waiting on a 700 front rack to be made commercially. Dont care much for the homemade stuff....unless its pro-made and that's usually more costly.

I run a Honda Pioneer 1000 3 seater with the power steering. Have had it for just about a year and put 2000 miles on it primarily hound hunting and one trip out west for Elk.. I added a roof, split windshield, soft cab enclosure and a winch.. Two complaints about the machine - cab heat in the summer time is incredible.. You have to run a split windshield and take off the doors to make it manageable in my opinion for summer operation. Factory tires are useless as teats on a boar hog if you are going to run the roads much or hard surfaces.. Replaced them at 500 miles with Tusk Terrabytes (8 ply DOT truck rated tire) and am extremely happy with the performance. I have had zero mechanical issues with the machine and would recommend them to anyone. I did a fair bit of internet research and settled on the Honda after that. Helped I'd had three Honda 4 wheelers over the years that were pretty much bullet proof. I put 500 miles on the machine in high desert conditions in UT, CO and WY on my western excursion and worked it pretty hard (over 10K in elevation a good bit of the miles) No noticeable power loss, but I did run high octane fuel in the mtns..Buy that sucker and put it to work.

I have a 2015 700 pioneer hard cab ,glass windshield and heater. I really like the machine but the cab is junk. It fits like a saddle on a sow. The wife a I spent 3 hours plugging holes in it and only got one side done.

I have a 1000-5 and the family farm uses a 700-4. To say the 1000 is light years ahead of the 700 would be an understatement. It is smoother, faster, quieter, and just substantially more comfortable. I realize it comes with a price, but after using them both side by side I am very glad I spent the extra money
