Just got a text from the NE gfp that i cant drive 8 miles across the border to walk around the 1400 acres of private property only a buddy and i have permission on. Hard to social distance better than that. It does say if i already bought my tag, which i havent since you can just buy online and print off, i couldve been able to go. There are decisions being made by people just to feel like theyre doing something proactive i guess. Anyone else seeing this in other states? Because the majority of positive cases in Nebraska are from people that have been to another state, Nebraska asks anyone coming into Nebraska to quarantine for 14 days. They didn't think a person coming to turkey hunt for a few days would also be able to quarantine for 14 days.

well, on the plus side at least it'll be a lot less crowded this year. I used to go on a turkey hunting tour every spring but haven't been to Kansas or Nebraska for several years cause the hunting pressure was ridiculous. What part do you go to? Im in knox and cedar co and i think ive talked to one group, a film crew from wisconsin. Nice guys. Otherwise we are all to ourselves. Love that area.

Those shotgun and just click to order law dog? Yep buy on line you can get a all season tag and a late season tag for May for the Black Hills. Check to see if any prairie units are left, I picked up a 2nd tag last week.

I'm from Missouri, so I always hunted in the south east part of NE. public ground of course, im sure if you got on private it would be less crowded. I always killed my birds, but it just got to crowded for my liking.

From the press conference today, if you are from out of state and bought a non residence permit, you will be getting a refund.

I am not a fan of our governor, but she has been proactive in trying to stop the chinese virus. Hopefully, she will act now and at least close the season to nonresidents like Nebraska did. We don't need 15,000 people pouring in here this year. I contacted 6 of our wildlife commissioners on Sunday night and have only received answers from 2 of them and they were basically saying it was not their job to escalate from their end. Wildlife and parks shut everything down several days ago until April 6. Turkey license money is a pretty big line in their budget. I don't think they want to talk to me anyway.
I am 71 and don't have many seasons left. Haven't missed a season since I believe 1985. My 2 sons and 2 grandsons and I are all staying home this year unless the travel bans and quarantines are lifted. Turkey hunting is the favorite for all of us!
Providing wild fur to the industry at below the cost of production for over 50 years.
Mostly carbon neutral since 1948.
