So currently working on a idea I had for an adjustable rid holder and wanted to see if y'all had some ideas for possible improvements . This is just the proto types and already see I need to weld I piece of stock across to top o the back rest but other than that seems ok to me,again though wanted to see what y'all thought.

Rod holder body is 3/8" rebar with 1/4" smooth rod bases and the stake is half inch rebar

That's a cool idea/design. I would add some heat shrink tubing or pipe insulation to the rod "cradles" so that the rebar doesn't chew up your graphite rod blank and Eva foam handle.

Just happy to be here.

Design flaw; nothing holding rod In from forward pulling action.
Front eyelet and reel should have a backward holder somehow.

Newest version , main problem was the open need was letting the rod pop out when tugged on so I added a bit of pipe to theirs one and it works much better

You might play with an adjustable pipe, for angle, on a stake and just put the butt of the rod in it.

This is what I made up a few years ago and they use about half the material. They are very strong and easy to carry a bunch at a time. Also slip in the oar locks of a row boat if fishing that way and you can set the hook and remove the pole from the holder in one move.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

funny I was just thinking of making a set of rod holders from 3/8 rebar

I whoever was thinking a lot simpler and lighter weight

then my son tells me tonight we need to build more of the shooting sticks as they make very good pole holders I keep a set in the back of the truck , he said they get the tip up nice and high so you can see the bite.

works for me I can get bunch out of a 2x cutting them on the table saw 3/4x3/4 30 inch long with some fabric tape at the top and 3 1/2 inch coated deck screws in at the bottom just till the threads are in then cut the head off with the angle grinder

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
