My guess is they are trying to scare everyone. If they told you 10,000 would die, everyone would think no big deal and spread it more. If they tell you 240,000 they get the fear factor. I think you are right. It's so people will take this more seriously than they are. A good example is NYC. After the governor and mayor tell people to don't go out any more than necessary, there were lots of people seen in the parks dancing, holding hands, hugging, etc. NYC is where the majority of cases are right now in the US.
We are told not to judge all Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but are told to judge all gunowners by the actions of a few.

BUT how many of those would have already been dead by now with out the corona stigma? 3 of Ky 11 where in final stages of cancer when they contracted the bug. THE first proclaimed death here in Ky was a gentleman who was in hospice care and had been given 3-5 days to live. 2 that passed on sunday where terminally ill 88 and 90 year old respectively. See that is what gets in my head . How is this the black plague and give some stats from NON terminal patients that it kills!!! What number would we be looking at. Yes people that have ahsma and other still functioning illnesses are extremely at risk . But not the ones in end stage cancer or heart failure they shouldn't be counted as corona deaths Example , I had an uncle that was at end stage pancreatic cancer. He knew he was dying . We knew he was dying. BUT he was admitted for what we guessed as his last time into the hospital. He had a heart attack and passed. bet he was still counted as a pancreatic cancer stat ...

They already lied once when they told us that wearing masks wouldn't help to slow the spread. They were trying to stop people from hording masks. Now, they're saying that we should consider wearing masks. I suspect that a lot of lies are being told to manipulate the citizenry.
