Is martial law for 30, 60 or 90 days a viable option to stop the spread of what I'm convinced will be a catastrophic event for our country? I'm talking full blown martial law, how many people in your family? Ok, your supplies will be delivered on Tuesdays. Can't leave your apartment or home/yard unless your in food or medical manufacturing & logistics. Don't get me wrong, the thought of it sickens me, do we trust the government with such power in the future? Not me. Can we trust the various military personnel to try to do the right thing? I think so. I, as have many on here, raised our right hand and swore to defend the constitution so you can guess what I think about having my rights & freedoms stomped on. If it would save a few hundred thousand of our citizens & a worldwide financial depression, would it be worth it for 3 months or so? As I said the thought of it just flat sickens me but is it necessary at this point? I don't know, I really don't.
Not as bad as I could be, not as good as I should be.

There’s a lot of folks here that would be okay with that....but I say absolutely not. A virus with a 2% death rate does not warrant such a thing. Liberty is a risky thing.

They've already shut down everything but essentials here Indiana and a lot of other states. But "essential" business includes A LOT of people.
I work for a company that makes medical devices, defense, and aerospace related products. So we are essential. But that means I gotta have gas stations to get fuel to go to work. And the gas station needs all the employees and service providers that keep it going - utilities, gas trucks, delivery trucks, computer repair people. The delivery trucks need tire dealers and auto parts retailers.
Turns out, a lot of things are more "essential" than you might think.
I don't believe they can or will shut down anything more than they already have.
Don't worry too much.

Don't need anybody coming here to take my meager possessions , to be 'redistributed'.
The 'law abiding' need to stay away. The 'lawless' will be dealt with as necessary.

Anything is really a possibility at the current time.....TPTB have the perfect reason to do whatever.....
As the realities of 30% unemployment alone no less the other after effects (which will be many) people are going to become very uneasy. Already seeing the rise of tribalism.....'stay in your geographic area'....

Check out the 'resolved cases', 2 ways they are resolved. Either 2 negative test results more than 24 hours apart or death. In the 'resolved' cases the death rate is 19%.

Why? What have Americans done to deserve that I worry more about the clueless local governments that are attempting to seize power today. The mini socialists are embracing a taste of supreme power at any level and they love it. Just nee$ to remind them they will always live there when it’s over.

I fear the cure may be worse than the disease. How many people will take their own lives as a result of this economic crash? How many lives are being ruined by the threat of this virus? I'm not saying I have the answers, but in the old days liberty was something people were willing to die for
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Don't give up your freedoms, and if your government tries to restrict your freedom, it makes it all the more important to assert and practice that freedom.

They don't have the manpower for martial law. Not even close. I believe that. especially on a national level.

I've always believed in those great words " those who are willing to give up freedom for security deserve neither ". Willing to die for liberty? Ya, I signed that check once, for you, for me, for our country. I really hope I'm wrong about how very bad this is going to get, I really hope you all can abuse me for being a paranoid drama queen for years to come. I just don't think so.

Don't worry too much. I know, I'm a long haul truck driver delivering medical equipment . I've thought a lot about the logistics.
