Pretty neat horn, the stock is not for me but it does have a certain appeal.

I misquoted the trigger kit. It's actually called the hammer kit for around $40. The Green Mountain barrel is the fluted one for around $130. Really like the Hogue stock. The hammer kit changed the whole gun as it had a terrible trigger pull.

So far as I know they all have a terrible pull when stock. It is possible to disassemble a 10-22 trigger and improve it considerably yourself. It is also very touchy business. If your handy with making stuff and using hand tools, good sense of how mechanical things work, you will be fine. If your not that guy that everybody you know comes to when something is broke I wouldn't try it. I would spend the money for an aftermarket trigger. No sense ruining the the one you have and still buying the aftermarket trigger.

X2 what Danny said, I am not overly mechanically inclined, I just bought the kidd drop in trigger and it’s fantastic but they are 200 bucks...if anyon is interested I have the factory trigger, barrel, and stock that I would get rid of extremely cheap...

Kidd also makes a drop in trigger job that is about 100 bucks. I like it better than the other drop ins that I have tried.

I bought another 10-22 I didn't need. The price was right, couldn't walk away.

Goatman I think I’m gonna copy your build but use the magpul stock instead... who did you buy the barrel from?

Another sweet one turd! Though I think that barrel may be out of my price range for this build....maybe. On another note it seems green mountain barrels are out of stock at brownells and midway...? Anyone have opinions on ER Shaw?

I have a Shaw and it shoots good. Don't overlook the Keystone barrels they are more of a micro grove and the ones I have seen are good shooters.

Mine started out life as a black synthetic stock, painted grey receiver, and matte stainless barrel. I won it in a raffle. I upgraded to a Shaw barrel, Boyd’s stock, and polished all the internals. Later I stripped the grey painted receiver with air craft paint remover and polished the receiver. I upgraded to a Volquartsen trigger group, but honestly did not like it. Later I bought a Kidd trigger group and it is sweet. It really has a good feel for off hand shooting and is my go to squirrel gun. I had an older Simmons scope on it for several years, but had a Vortex Viper that didn’t have a gun to call home so I mounted it on the 10/22 last season. The Shaw barrel even with a match chamber is not finicky at all about what I feed it. Accuracy wise it’s dime sized groups with several ammo brands. I was very happy that it likes CCI mini mags, but it has a preference for standard velocity ammo around 1000 FPS.

I sold all of my removed parts on EBay to allow for the purchase of upgrades. I was surprised at the premium some of the factory parts brought on EBay.

Danny I can’t wait for season...I consider it home defense. They don’t stop coming where I’m at. When I starting snaring them I couldn’t keep up.
