I use one beaver,,two scoops of ice cream and cover with orange or root bear soda pop. Sounds great! Trapstickman has only experimented with muskrat floats so far. Something for him to look into now.
I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Mine are the same build as yours Trapper D except so far ive used 5 or 6 in dry cedar I don't cut slots I cut a narrow piece of rubber conveyor belt nailed or screwed on the top inside of the post as spring holders Also carry long handled loppers and cut a trench in willows or streamside brush to place the float old grass works to Don't know if any of this is necessary but it makes me feel clever

Does anyone have the dimensions they are using? I wouldn't mind trying a couple of these.
I have nothing clever to put here.

mine are 24-36 in. long depends on he length of wood I have on hand 20 in inside the legs piece of 2x8 screwed to the front of the a-frame to hold it together I started out with a screw driven thru the 2x8 to hold a piece of peeled popple smeared with lure now I cut a short piece of white pvc on an angle an screw it down as a lure holder triggers down and t-shape I like the triggers under the water but may not be necessary whatever you build float one see how it looks I set these for travelers on private property and get permission to leave them on site all year
