So i started collecting sac oil Monday. I noticed last night i blood specs in the jar from touch the sacs to the jar as I milked them. From searching the archives, that means it’ll spoil? Is that batch of oil worthless or can I still use it for canines?

Its best in my experience to semi dry the oil sacs which allows the tissue to firm and dry first before draining. This also prevents much if any blood that may still be in the sacs tissue.

You get a better oil void extraction this way also. You need to keep as much blood out of the oil as it can spoil and go rancid over time.Clean oil will last indefinitely I have found.

It should be fine for canine use. It may however change in odor over time if there is too much blood.in the oil. If it is very minimum blood you may be fine. However you will know in time if it seems to change in color and odor.

when a lil blood comes out, spoon it with a lil oil into a different jar, and when done, and all bloody bits together freeze that jar and use it first next season, all alone at sets...don't give it opportunity to spoil.

This is how I've always done it. Then I take the empty sacs, soak them in burgundy wine for 6 months, then grind them up for use as a lure ingredient.
