Crazy times folks just plain do crazy things. I look so forward to coming trapping season even if fur prices low just to get outdoors and gather glands and meat for other needs. When I first moved to SD they had counter checks in most of the stores just pick your bank and fill out a counter check to pay, a credit card would get you a bad look back then.

Last month in the Everglades area a lot of businesses had signs up stating they would NOT accept VISA but other cards were okay. Anybody know the reason for that?

I greatly prefer cash. People have to be right there to steal cash from you. Electronic cash on a credit or debit card can be stolen from you from anywhere in the world. You also never know if you will get a charge back when accepting a debit or credit card. As far as I know, I have never received counterfeit cash. If I did, it spent okay anyways.

I went to my nearest yard material contractor for 20 yds of mulch yesterday. She asked if I wanted it on my account and I said no I will pay with my debit card. She said OK and went inside the little shed and came back out with rubber gloves and a Lysol wipe. She took the card with the wipe, ran my card and brought it back with the wipe and handed both to me. I wiped it down good and stuck it back in my wallet. She loaded me up with my mulch and off I went. I guess its the new normal. LLL

I do as many transactions in cash as possible. I don't need records made and kept of every transaction I ever made. I'm old school , if I have to return something , I have the receipt.

Cash is the only way I do business. Had a cashier at a car dealership tell me she couldn't take cash for my service bill. I asked if they wanted to follow me to the bank so they could cut them a money order at their expense. Threw 2 Ben Franklins on the counter and asked her to read it.The part right under THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA this note is legal tender for ALL debts public and private. She then took the cash and made change. That's why I will not under any circumstance do business with FEDEX they don't accept cash.
