Kansas is taking a slightly different approach. They are mandating a 14 day quarantine for hunters traveling from several states along with hunters who have visited certain states and foreign countries or been on cruise ships....it is a fairly extensive list and subject to change.

Maine did just the opposite. The governor opened fishing season early and waived license requirements through the month of April. We'll see what turkey season brings.

Do you have any idea how Kansas will enforce the 14 day quarantine? It looks like there is a chance a lot of people will simply ignore it.

Providing wild fur to the industry at below the cost of production for over 50 years.

Mostly carbon neutral since 1948.

There is no good way to enforce that type of 'mandated' request....

Lots of hunters come here in deer season from the heavily infected zones of the USA.....round 2 will be in the fall and that's when they will be here.

The hunt (like many if not most of these hunts) takes place in a remote area of Alaska. Getting to the "point of outfitting" involves both the hunter and guide flying out to an isolated village or small town.

Alaska currently has in place sever restriction on even residents traveling from one town to another.

The village I hunt out of consists of about 70 people, many of them are old, diabetic, and have other health issues. In the best of times (good weather, plane availability, etc.) it takes about three hours to get to a hospital from this village.

In 1918 nearly half of the village's population was wiped out by the Spanish flue. The people who currently live in this village are descendants of the survivors of that pandemic. They have not forgotten about it.

Heady stuff man!

I have been very critical of this Governor but there has been several things she has done that I thought was good this being one and the fact we can now use cross bows during archery season

Well Alaska just rescinded this. Now the governor is only blocking nonresidents from hunting spring bears. That's a little more reasonable.

She relented on the gun store closures, too. She's bad, not terrible.
