Stopped by a local bait shop who does curbside service to grab some emeralds to take my daughter fishing. We planned to drive around the bay until found a spot tht no one was in to limit exposure. The part that bothers me is that two vehicles in front of us were both from a city 2 hours away! I overheard them seemingly bragging about it.
They weren't asked. Just volunteered the info.

What is wrong with you? Thanks for spreading germs up our way.

I am not even thinking about going to SD. We usually have made a couple trips to the river by now since I have two friends with second homes there and they are either there or we stay for mowing the yard or whatever they need done. They both have trucks and boats I use when we go. I could actually pose as a south Dakotan and know one would know the difference. I am not because I don't want to pick up anything or take anything there that I may get along the way. I was just making a point that there is a whole lot more "tribalism" than you are aware of. Comments like "all you out of staters need to stay out" while people from S.F and Brookings think it is ok to fish on Federal waters. Like I have said it brings out the best and the worst. LLL

Tribalism yes it’s the 2 Tribes that made that happen (maybe just the one) it’s their land so it was their choice to close their ramps. State ramps are open you can get to the same spots using other ramps to launch, your making a big deal out of nothing we don’t have any control over it really.

Come or don’t come, launch at the State sites nobody will care where your from oh the drama.

I think the produce farmers will make a killing this year and everyone will suddenly try to be a gardener.

A lot of seed companies are sold out. Garden forums have had very large members number jumps. I would say you are correct.

For several years I have bough from Walmart, delivered to house, 28 cans of Dinty Moore Chicken and Dumplings. The cans are 20 ounces and make a full meal for me. I have been buying them for $8.20 for 4 cans and it will last me a little over a month. I was getting low several weeks ago when the SHTF and everyone was buying up all of the toilet paper, so I jumped online to get my 28 cans and the were sold out. I thought ...WHAT? Every day I check … still sold out I looked in the store last week when I went and none there either.

So, just out of curiosity, yesterday I checked on Amazon for it. Yippee … there it was … 4 cans for $49.99. So, most likely the scalpers had grabbed it up and trying to make a big profit on it. The dirty rotten B...…...ds.

If the option is going hungry, yes I would. Every animal I own is potential food.

Actually I'm not afraid of going hungry. Never has been a fear of mine. But Dad did raise me and my brothers to understand everything on the property better earn it's keep putting food on the table or it just might become food.

Well it is pretty obvious you have never owned a good dog, much less a great dog. I would b out doing what I needed to do to feed my family and my dog.
Never ever could I imagine killing and eating a dog. Sheep, goats, cows, etc., those are made for eating. If you have a good or are lucky enough to have a great dog you would not even consider such a thing. I expect a harsh response back, but could give two flying f@#@'s. I know all I need to now.
My God this forum is unbelievable. What a case study it would make.

Humans have survived many crisis and other major events for eons and we will this one as well. What it will be like or look like after we are not sure, but then we were not here to see the changes over the centuries when the other major events unfolded either.

We do a garden every year. Two weeks ago, I went online to buy my usual supply of seeds and everything is sold out. I figured the world was out of seeds just like it is out of paper towels and toilet paper. That afternoon, I happened to be at Tractor Supply and their seed racks were completely full. I bought everything I think I'll need. Not sure why seeds are sold out online but available in the stores. But, that was two weeks ago, maybe they're gone everywhere now.

I normally buy pepper, tomato, and broccoli plants instead of growing them from seed. Because I'm concerned the plants might not be available, we've started those indoors in plastic bags.

I had a couple of grapes die last year. I can't find grape plants in the stores. Fortunately, I was delinquent in pruning my vines this winter and left them until spring to prune. I was able to take some cuttings and I'm rooting those inside instead of buying plants - since there aren't any.
