After reading your second post it brings to mind my current thoughts of the situation. Because of the unknown of the virus the government has been all over the place with responses.

Ohio and Michigan have had alsost identical lockdown timelines, yet Michigan has notably worse cases/deaths stats.

Why?

I'm not an expert in this, and right now I'm not sure who's is. So I'm going to back to ignoring these types of threads because they aren't changing anything.

And for the record you called yourself crazy first. I was just being agreeable. whistle

You can spin it however you want. 330,000 cases isn't really that impressive when you count the millions of people in the United States. If we had 330,000 deaths you'd have my attention. Everyone keeps looking for the secret cure to this thing and simply forget it's a virus. Really a vaccine is your only option at this point the rest is supportive. What's becoming apparent to me through this thing is how little the general public knows about healthcare and how easily manipulated they are by the media.

I saw people going crazy over the fact that some medics were pronouncing people dead without bringing them to the hospital. You read things like "there's no beds for them so they're letting them die at home." When that is anything but the case. EMS here have been pronouncing people that are beyond saving at home with a simple phone call to an emergency physician for years. In my little corner of the world 580 people could be out of a livelihood soon which is going to affect them much more than this virus will.

You see the original "experts" taking their numbers from 500,000 to 20,000. Sweden hasn't changed a thing in their daily life and they are only recording 11 more deaths per million than we are. They've lost 400 people out of 10.2 million. Someone forgot to tell them that the only way to beat this virus was to shutdown your entire economy for two weeks.

I didn't spin it.

I said 7 days later we have 330K cases.

Didn't even bring up the roughly 10K death total. Or that it took Italy two months to reach that.

I said nothing of a secret cure. I addressed better treatment and management

One of the people I get my info from is a retired ICU nurse from OSU. The first cases who had it in Ohio and are in intensive care are in the unit she worked in.

She is telling me to take this seriously.

So I am.

Sorry, I should have been clear the secret cure is what I have read in reference to a number of people looking for the smoking gun. I find it interesting there's a 1000 bed Navy ship sitting in NY harbor waiting for non-covid patients to fill it up since their system is being overwhelmed. Yet, last anyone could tell there were about 20 patients on board. Then you have them tacking on Covid death certificates to oncology patients with little life left to live. I mean you could go on and on with the craziness this virus has brought on. I am definitely not a conspiracy theorist but the numbers just don't add up. There's a lot of questions that no one can answer.

I'm not asking anyone to not take it seriously. Let the medical field take it seriously. I'm saying that keeping everyone pinned up in their house isn't doing much to slow anything. The number of positives are probably quite higher than your 330k in the last week if we could test everyone. That's only going to bring the mortality rate down.

We have a place here that was on lockdown since March 14th I believe. Assisted living. They just found out one lady was positive two days after she dies and now there's seven more positives. Would they have known those people were positive if they hadn't tested the 91 year old that died? Maybe....maybe not? Did they test those other 7 people because they live at the facility? Were they asymptomatic? It's really impossible to get any of these answers. It's almost certainly was brought in by staff even with every precaution they could take.

It's here in this community and it has been for a while. There were days we would field calls from 10-30 people a day with Covid symptoms that had recently traveled or been exposed. We simply informed them they wouldn't be tested and to self isolate for 14 days. The massive die off just isn't happening. If those people had become critically ill we'd be seeing them by now. We're not.

100% agree.

And I understand your frustration with the situation, as it is affecting you head on.

I think there are people who can answer they are just not going to

325 million people X 1200 is about 3 billion 900 million, but the relief bill is for 2 plus trillion. Anybody know where the rest of the money is going?

No hobbie i did not. In fact if I were a congress man I would get a half dozen staffers to each read 1/6th of of it and give me a synopsis. Before I succumbed to pressure and voted for it.

The state map show 5 cases for our county, that is kind of misleading because the first case here self quarantined and is now no longer sick. He recovered at home and is fine now, and the second case should be resolved or will be any day. I don't think the state removes the ones that are recovered. I also believe that this has been around here since late Dec. as lots of people were sick and told they didn't have the flu.
