Adam’s post had me thinking about Delaware. If anyone ever plans to come to Delaware to hunt turkeys, we require all hunters wishing to hunt turkeys to complete a Mandatory Turkey Education class. Either in person or one of two online options (both cost money from a vendor). I’ve taken both and they are pretty good if you want to take one of those.

Because of the corona virus the in person classes were cancelled, so the Office of Hunter Education developed a course that students can take for free. It will be available to take until May, it is a 2hr video and a 20 question test. You can find more information about the free option below.

Nothing too hard, but when Delaware reintroduced turkeys in the late 80’s and had the first hunting season in 93 I believe. The legislature made it a requirement that all people wishing to hunt turkeys needed to take the course. Haven’t had any turkey hunting related accidents in that whole time, so something must be working, or it’s just good luck.
