Politics is the only reason to do this one day before the election. I'm guessing, based on speculative conversations, that pro-gun Kelly is polling very well against the anti-gun liberal Karofsky in the Supreme Court race.

State Supreme Court will hear it.

I vote absentee in every election, but I know our town clerk is ready and staffed and the preparations and procedures are in place for tomorrow.

Evers sure made this a cluster .......

I just got this e-mail from our Town Clerk:

As of 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 6th the Spring Election will proceed as planned on April 7th. While Governor Evers Executive Order #74 (dated 4/6/2020) does suspend in-person voting for April 7, 2020; we understand it is being challenged. Therefore the Wisconsin Elections Commission is instructing Clerks to proceed with the election as planned. The status of the election may change this evening after you receive this newsletter, so please check various news sources before coming in to vote.

I voted absentee for the first time ever and I don't think I am alone. So with over 1.3M absentee ballots requested, how busy is the polling places really going to be?

Evers was just overruled on extending the deadline for absentee ballots by the United States Supreme Court.:

MADISON - Wisconsin voters will head to the polls Tuesday after Gov. Tony Evers failed to shut down Tuesday’s election in a historic last-minute move that was swiftly rejected by the conservative majority of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The spring election will take place with polls opening at 7 a.m. statewide in the face of a warning from the state's top health official who said voting at the polls will “without question” lead to more illness and death as coronavirus spreads through the state.

Six chaotic hours on Monday ended with a U.S. Supreme Court decision requiring all absentee ballots to be postmarked by Tuesday, reversing a federal judge's order to extend absentee voting by a week and forcing thousands who hadn't yet received their ballots to vote in person or not at all.

They set up tents for drive through voting in PDC today. It looked like there were quite a few cars going in and out there. There were some other local things on the ballot as well. Most were running unopposed.

My wife and I sent our absentee ballots in last week. I think that's what were going to do from now on. It's easier.
Now that this is over I hope I quit getting texts on my phone telling me to vote and send my absentee ballot in. I don't know how they got my number or how they know I got an absentee ballot. It doesn't do any good to block the number I just get another message from a different one.

I'm glad Ever's last minute plan didn't work. If he wanted to delay it should have been done a week or 2 ago.

Green Bay had two polling places - three hour wait to vote. Glad I voted absentee weeks ago.

If the rural and small towns do not vote the City folks will rule your State, that is a fact.

The only reason the Governor would want to postpone the election would be if it were to his advantage politically.
Him wanting to keep the voting open to the return of absentee ballots until June 9 is ridiculous; Just imagine the finagling the Dems could do between now and then.

Wife and I voted in person this afternoon at our town hall VFD. Precautions were taken by poll workers and traffic was average to above average for a primary election.

Same here Hodag, they were a little overboard I thought. Spraying everything wearing masks had to use a pen to touch the screen and keep it when you were done and wear rubber gloves

My wife worked the polls in our township from 6:30 to 3 PM. The second shift came in at 3 PM Some plexi Glass partitions were made for several stations and a couple younger persons were asked to serve as most of our poll persons are elderly. There was a hand sanitation station and individual pens for each voter. During their slow times absentee ballots were counted. Will be a week before we hear final results or there abouts.

I just got back from voting at my local town hall. There was a guy with gloves there to open the door, and clear plastic dividers between the poll workers and voters. I got my number slid under the divider at one table, then moved to the next table where I slid my number and DL under the divider to the two goals working the books, then had to sign, with a rubber mat placed over the signature book with a small opening for my signature. Pen went into a bucket to be sanitized, and the rubber mat was wiped down as I left. Got my ballot slid under another divider and was given a marker. Filled it out and fed it into the machine and put my marker in another bucket to be sanitized. I wore gloves and a neck gaiter over my face as a precaution. In and out in 5 minutes, just a few others there as I was leaving, so no real crowds to speak of. I was voter #743.
