Cedar Hacker OP trapper C Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,140 Texas Hill Country	Alex Harvey, best known for writing Delta Dawn and Reuben James has passed away just two short weeks after his dear friend Kenny Rogers. I believe he was diagnosed with cancer just a few weeks ago and passed away in his sleep this past Saturday. Kenny Rogers recorded about 20 of his songs and many singers from Billy Ray Cyrus to Henry Mancini had recorded his songs. Somewhere around 300 million recordings. He was a good entertainer as well as a good man. One of his songs that I like was recorded by Chris Ledoux called 'A Five Dollar Fine' that goes something like this. Were a fun lovin’ crowd, kinda rowdy and loud, Our jukebox wont play no sad songs, So don’t come in here and cry in your beer, Cause we don’t care about who done who wrong. CHORUS We got a five dollar fine for whinin’ We'll tell you before you come in. And if it ain’t on your mind to have a good time, Y’all come back and see us again. Well, we don’t really care about your clothes or your hair, This party is open to all. Yah we like a good joke and its alright to smoke, we got just one rule on the wall. CHORUS Now there’s too many fools makin’ too many rules, that’s one thing you can’t say about us. Cause we all get along when we sing the same song there’s just one thing that causes a fuss. CHORUS x 2 Wee got a five-dollar fine for whining Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.
