What's the difference between these 2? I have some misc home tanning I want to do for myself. I think the 100 is the 1 I want, but I'm not sure. Is it entirely safe to use?

I've gotten both kits, the Rancher kit has a degreaser in the pack for sheep skins and liquid KwikTan. I prefer using the EZ100 kit myself. Yes, it's safe to use.

The EZ100 is the 1 I ordered the other day. Hopefully it comes with good instructions. I wonder if I could even get a nice soft beaver tan with it
I think it'll work better than the orange bottle.

Orange bottle is not even a tan ..the EZ100 is a garment quality tan ..get them beavers thinned out and degreased well and you will have a nice pelt of course with a little elbow grease also

coon and possum came out good, rats not so good. probable operator error. might have had too many in at one time. I used a 5 gallon bucket.

I'm going to tan a squirrel or two as well. I'll see how it goes.
I've never tanned a beaver before, so I'll have to study up so it doesn't come out like a stiff board.

If you can frost scrap that beaver it will really help with thinning the hide ..i had a big ol Boar coon i did that way after reading BOCOs thread and it came out real nice ..im using trubond products but it shouldnt matter EZ100 is a very good product..good luck

Just posted another thread with one question in regards to a rittels tan, but also wondering the proper directions for use of the degreaser? I bought some as an addition to my rittels EZ-100 kit but the degreaser bottle didnt have any directions. Thanks!

Ez 100 is 2oz of super solve per 1 gal of of solution ..trubond i degrease right in the pickle at 1 oz per gallon and use citric acid for the pickle that will act as a natural degreaser also

I got the EZ tan 100 package in the mail. I ordered the kit new, from a respected vendor. Attached is what I got. The 3 piece kit came with no instructions--- not even the orange label that appears on some retail websites for this product. Is it normal to receive this 100 kit in no special Rittels package & with no instructions? I have a squirrel, beaver, some muskrats, and a mink to tan so far.

Now that Groeny cancelled all his routes, it looks like I'll be self tanning more pelts than I thought. I bought the Rittel's kit at the right time. Hopefully I figure out how to get beaver soft enough for a nice home tan.

What about a beaver tail...I'd like to try tanning a couple with the EZ100 kit. Do you guys think that's a good idea? I've never tanned a beaver tail b4. I just want a couple to display in the sports room.

I have a couple beaver tails to skin, but am not ready to tan them yet. Once skinned & fleshed, should I do something special to dry the tails for a few days before I put them in the freezer? When I put them in the freezer should I lay the fleshed side on a piece of cardboard? Thanks

I skinned & fleshed 1 tail tonight. It's drying on a piece of cardboard now. I had this medium sized tail sitting in the garage too long & it was curled up with the last few inches super thin & dried ROCK solid, so I wasn't able to make use of the whole tail unfortunately. If all goes as planned I'll have 2 cool pieces of beaver tail leather to display, but they'll look more like a large drink coaster than a tail. We'll see how they turn out after the Rittels 100 treatment...
