Went to Rural king for a bottle of pop and a jar of beets. They wont let you in the store unless you take a shopping cart. They claim the cart is for social distancing - keeps you away from people in line at the register. They even have an employee standing guard at the entrance. What about once your in the store and pass by someone in the aisle ? So you're forced to take a germy filthy cart or you cant enter the store. Yeah, that makes sense. Went right back out the door - probably wont go back. I'll be glad when this nonsense is over.

I agree Dan, seems like a stupid policy. But what I can't get past is your shopping list - a bottle of pop and a jar of beets? Who does that? grin

Making aisles one way now so you don’t pass to close going different ways.

The have good pickled beets. The pop was to drink on the way home. The beets were to go with dinner later. Should have specified that.

Nice , one way aisles so you can walk through the breath droplets from the people in front of you. These are all just feel good measures that do nothing against a virus. Whatever.

The carts were added when they decided to limit the amount of people in the store at a time, our rural king gives them out when you walk in and if the cart giver runs out of carts then the people have to wait outside until one becomes available , And if someone goes in with 2 kids they get 3 carts. I went in for a spark plug but had to take a cart.

Viruses don't fall to the ground when you exhale like lead shot. They float around and waft in the air. If you walk 6 feet, 9 feet 12 feet 20 feet behind or by someone your breathing in some of what they breathed out. The 6 feet distance and poorly fitting masks everyone is wearing aren't doing anything but mentally making them feel safe.

It amazes me the measures some businesses have to take to stay open -- I went to my welding supply store the other day to get a bottle of argon and a couple spools of alum wire. the gate to the bottle storage was open ( it always is) so i back up to the dock, put the bottle on it and head to the side door of the shop (normal procedure) --- then i notice the sign on the door that says " no customers are allowed in the store -- please call this number to get service" I called it and it went to voice mail - i was upset, i loaded up and went home. I do not think that i have ever been in that store when there was more than 1 other customer in it with me. The next day i called ahead and had them set the stuff on a cart at the door for pickup. All good and i know they are trying but ???. Maybe i should have loaded up a fresh bottle plus one or two extras and called it good?. I know that i am easily perturbed but I am getting very frustrated trying to get parts right now.

Much more fun to whack people with a fishing pole. Most of us have several we can rent out for that purpose.

Pretty soon soon they'll be hosing you down with lysol and sticking a thermometer up your butt before they let you in a store and most people would probably go along with it.

Here in some stores there are hand sanitizers and paper towels where you pick up the carts.

Was in one today, glad they are still open needed farm supplies. Honestly feel compassion for the employees, no doubt not making top dollar, and they are exposed to a lot more people than most.

Are Rural King wipes down the carts and won't let over 2 members of the same family in at the same time to keep numbers down.

I also feel compassion for the employees. A lot of big box stores are closed in Virginia right now.

Our RK will only let one person in at a time and you must take a cart. When the gal told me I had to take a cart and it was sanitized, I said I don't need one. She said its because of the 6ft rule. I told her again that I don't need one and she said I couldn't go in without a cart. I said I'll take my business elsewhere. (Menards) Now, I understand what's going on but don't tell me I have to take a cart you supposedly sanitized. Like has been said before, 6ft isn't going to keep the virus away from you. And, yes, I feel for the retail workers. I've been one for 30 years.

Oh. And my wife was with me. So, on her way back to the truck, ( she wasn't going in after we were asked if we were together), she told 2 guys that had just got out of a truck. And they left before entering.
