I thought I read he recovered after getting the Covid, I do know he had lung issues and survived cancer sorry to hear it him Haggard, Cash not fond of some of the new music but guess just a different generation.

I heard sirens on the train track howl naked get nuder
An altar boy'd been hit by a local commuter

A great person and musician giving so much to our lives...love his songs so much.

Of course I never got to perform with John but I did perform with a lot of folks covering his songs.

Here is Tom Paxton . I think Prine would would appreciate the sentiments in this song.

Absolutely right White. I last saw him in the summer of 2018 at Red Rocks and he was in pretty tough shape then. I figured it would be the last time I would ever get to see him live.

My grandfather was a shooter for the coal company. I believe it was Peabody Coal Company. He first contracted with them using his draft horses and his slip. They taught him how to be a shooter and he traveled over a state or two working for them. The strip pits were essentially in the front yard of his farm. I guess you could say Mr. Peabody's coal train hauled his farm away.

I always laughed at the "who's John Prine" crowd...He will be missed..

I'm a fan. Have been for nearly 40 years. I don't go to concerts; never have. Over the years, I've amassed a paltry 40 or so casette tapes that I still listen to almost daily. Probably more than half of those tapes are John Prine. I'll miss his wit and his simple, from the heart melodies and lyrics. Rest Easy John, and thank you...
