my friends who sell meat beef , pork , chicken , lamb , turkey have done very well and set up a fedex delivery order by midnight Tuesday , they get their meat from cold storage Wednesday morning and pack boxes all day Thursday 4pm the fedex truck picks up the orders and people get them Friday.

they did one final run to deliver orders to their farmers market people the 3/21 set a new high Saturday record doubling their old highest Saturday.

they are also offering pre order and drive up pick up they take their cube truck with a freezer in it out to the end of their road and you can do drive by meat pick up.

one of my wife's friends is doing delivered produce or pickup produce , we got our root vegetable box today 20 pounds of different types of potatoes , sweet potatoes , turnips , carrots , lettuce , and asparagus.

that was there first weeks offering now they have 3 boxes to choose from , it is great they call the house as they are pulling up and they wave and set your box on the step.

some of the boxes include plants and seed potatoes.

there is a local winery that is now offering free delivery on 3 bottles or more , they rely on weekend tourism to sell wine and now they have a path to keep going dropping off bottles at your door.

Wal-Mart and Paint companies. Sounds like everybody is stuck at home doing home repairs.

Good topic James. I think the "rent me a freezer and keep it full" plans will have a great marketing tool, the uber groceries and disposables biz will rise, and I think any emergency preparation companies will do well. A certain number of ppl will get the never again attitude.

As far as investment, oil will never be cheaper than it is right now. If this pandemic wipes 1/4 of the world out it will take a long time to come back up. If this is all just a side show the min we all feel safe enough to eat out we will buy gas. Fact

Grocery stores, when you're paying $7 for a can of corn after all this stimulus money gets dumped in the system causing inflation and you have to sell everything you own to buy food.

my 18 year old daughter (still lives at home finishing highschool) said when she is on her own there will be a month of everything she needs in her house at all times.
not that she is going without currently just that she finally saw the wisdom in dads pantry and freezers.

It was a proud moment , I gave her the motto ," Stock what you eat , eat what you stock." if you do this nothing is ever waste or excess , just purchased ahead a little at a time.

I dont get the buying gold or silver thing. Yes i know its useful in production of electronics or things and people are buying it looking for the future when everything sorts itself out. But if society collapsed im not gonna be trading my stock of lead or food for something i cant use. My mind isnt wired for things like that i guess. My thoughts immediately went to being able to feed and shelter my family and provide for their defense and protection. I did do a little panic buying.. wasnt tp or hand sanitizer. I went and bought extra medical supplies, fire extinguishers, garden supplies, and a little rimfire ammo.

GreencountyPete.
My grandpa used to say you can keep the top half full just as easy as the bottom half. Sounds to me like your daughter is going to be well ahead of the curve because as you and I know that same adage applies to the freezer, the pantry, even the TP door under the sink.

Way to go dad!

Auction companies. As businesses go under their assets will have to sold off.

We went from the best economy the country had seen for a long time to the beginning of the next depression pretty fast due to the chinese.....

Maybe they let this thing out on purpose?

The last I heard from them was they were going to drown the USA in a sea of kung flu a month or so ago.....they been pretty quite lately. Have not heard about any hong kong protests lately.....

Home delivery is NOT going to stay cheap. Right now the people doing it have no business experience. The people doing it are hard up for money and have no idea what the actual cost per mile of a delivery vehicle is. They are just driving whatever they had previously driven to work. I think it would be a good time to "tool up" for home delivery without doing it. Hedge your bet by buying used rather than new in case you need to sell if summer weather kills this new flu too. Or some real wonder drug shows up. Or the panic being caused by the constant media sensationalism ends. When somebody takes a job delivering pizzas for say Casey's most dont last more than two weeks. The money just isn't there. This cheap home delivery is the same. Wont be long that folks will decide they need to be paid.

If they can sell that can for 7 now they'd make a killing but if inflation makes it go to 7, wholesale isn't going to stay the same and wages and overhead will inflate too.

The home fitness market exploded. Since ive googled kettlebell workouts a lot over the years, google suggests articles about kettlebells for me. Manufacturers are paying overtime to try and fill orders. For those who dont know, a kettlebell is essentially a cannonball with a loop for a handle that was made popular by the Russians. Im a big fan. When this is all over, i would expect gyms to have a surge in business and a lot of used kettlebells for sale.

Companies/suppliers of prepping stuff.

Preppers were looked at like they needed tin hats , not anymore. It will become more popular.

Being in communications and a first responder, still.
Buy stock in the conference call companies, such as gotomeeting.com and others.
monster profits will be coming from these companies. Tons of un-prepared companies are holding meetings and gathering via this technology now.
and will form now on be paying a monthly fee to keep this on hand for the future.

I think your going to see some things bubble for a bit then be way reduced or go away..Probably see more of the hated by many self check outs in stores..I'm sure some businesses have used this as an excuse to trim people they were trying to figure out how to get rid of.
Every ones talking about gearing up build ventilators..So probably see a flood of that type stuff for bit then it will all sit. Next big pandemic they'll need some other thing more..
For sure be some restructuring in lot of businesses..
Maybe see places like fast food go all drive up no more seating to deal with maintain???

Will add to for sure the people already want government and city folks to pay for their cable into whole country side..

Mac
