Just got these new rules for our local course. Should make for an interesting season:

As we try to keep our employees and golfers safe during this pandemic we will be following the “Safer at Home” guidelines. The following are a few guidelines that will be implemented:
Social Distancing at all times – this includes checking in for golf and carts
We will be spreading out tee times to allow greater separation of players
Carts will be single person riding only unless the couple lives together
Carts and pull carts are to be sanitized after each use
Pins will always be left in the cup. We will be raising the cup an inch so golfers can putt and when they hit the cup, and remains within 1 foot it is considered holed. This does not agree with the USGA rules of golf for handicap and scores but is an alternative.
There will be no bunker rakes; just smooth bunker out as best as you can with your foot or club.
We will be trying to use credit cards only. We know at times this will be impossible but please bear with us as we try to keep both you and our employees safe.
The beverage service will be open, but we will not be serving food at this time.
At this time, we are urged not to have porta potties on the course but our restrooms will be open and sanitized regularly.
As for leagues, the season’s first meeting will have to be cancelled due to the “group” guidelines. As of right now we are considering setting up tee times for league play to keep our social distancing down to a minimum and to be able to keep up with the cart requests.

It looks like they are trying to work with the people. Not a golfer but look interesting.

With regards to fishing, will they only allow one person per boat then?

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

Could be or maybe 2 if they are 6 feet apart. I saw that the WI Chippewa just said they are going to spear again this year despite the virus and declared a take of 55,000 walleyes. I wonder if the 6 foot rule will apply to them too? No other rules do.

Just say no to the raised pins. You can't have hole outs or holes in one with raised cups. Recommend the pool noodle si the ball can at least come to rest in the hole.

I've only played once this year. LCP from the senior tees, it was a money game. Shot an annoyed 73 but I'll allow it for the first round. Played like garbage.

Daughter told me yesterday that our local course is closed but they said you can still come out and play for free. No carts of course.

I would not play if the ball can’t go into the cup.maybe require a ball grabber to pick ball out of the hole

Every course in France is closed. I miss it big time.

Our course in town has lately been eaten up by wild boars. It is a beautiful seaside course.

Corky, is that Big Stone GC? I've only golfed there a couple times since they redid the clubhouse.

I would have gone with no carts carry your own bag your here to get exercise , call and get a t-time , call to let them know you are there for the t-time and when off course.

but they charge more for carts so I understand

I would make all courses into shooting ranges. Benches 12 ft apart. Walk to the target.

Carts will be single person only unless the couple lives together. ???????????????

I can see this if you come in separate cars but if we ride to the course together in an enclosed vehicle, then we should be able to ride together in an open air cart.

I have been fishing several times and my friends and I ride in the truck together. Once on the boat we are 6 or 8 feet apart except when traveling out to where we start fishing.

steel only , no benches just a long rope between t-posts to set the boundaries of the shooting line steel targets only , one person designated to go repaint from time to time unless you bring your own targets and target stand

BYO shooting mat

police your own brass.

honestly on the indoor range the down range positive ventilation is so strong it would be low risk to do every other stall that is what our club is doing we have 8 stalls , max 4 people on range at one time ,no guests wipe everything down before and after

I hit the outdoor range the other day , I had the place to myself , shot a few rounds to make sure I was still on don't want to burn too much ammo

"Social distancing" , the 6 foot rule, was junk science at best from the beginning. And that's indoors. Outside on a golf course or in a fishing boat 6 feet means absolutely nothing. Anybody who has ever been outside should understand that, but somehow we have locked in on some experts recommendation as gospel.
