I fully believe when the reality of the damage sets in by companies announcing earnings and this magic money wears off that we're in for a hurting in the market

The Dow? I don't know about that extreme but I wouldn't be surprised if it was below $17,000

A pound of bologna is now $6. By the end of 2020 bread will be $6 per loaf.

I don't understand inflation enough really past the basics but I'm curious what will happen to consumer prices where demand for lots of goods is way down but we have all this money being injected. I'd imagine the demand will eventually snap back and the printed money will eventually win out and cause inflation

(BBC)

The coronavirus pandemic will turn global economic growth "sharply negative" this year, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned.

Kristalina Georgieva said the world faced the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

She forecast that 2021 would only see a partial recovery.

Lockdowns imposed by governments have forced many companies to close and lay off staff.

Earlier this week, a UN study said 81% of the world's workforce of 3.3 billion people had had their place of work fully or partly closed because of the outbreak.

With exports slowing way down, the exports of grains and meat will be far less. We will have plenty to eat if we have willing, able and healthy persons to produce the food, process the food and retailers to sell the food.
