Nonresident spring turkey and black bear hunting suspended Following the extension of Montana Gov. Steve Bullock’s directive that out of state travelers must quarantine for 14 days, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks director Martha Williams has suspended nonresident hunting seasons for spring turkey and black bear until at least April 24.

I did get 2 WI tags after clearing up a big screw up on the mess my rookie nephew messed up by not staying in his own lane. We will have minimal contact with others just drive to a remote cabin hunt for a week to 10 days and go home.

^ Not really sure what to think about the decisions. I see MN Governor is in an uproar that neighboring states that don't have Shelter in Place but yet the MN people are filling the parking lots of those same neighboring states shopping, pharmacy, grocery, doctoring and coming to do outdoor activities.
He doesn't want people coming to his state even though they own property in MN. That guy must be a tool??

Guessing the hunters will be down in most places they were very nice and helpful issuing tags, so I expect few other hunters or we will be elbow to elbow it could go either way. LOL
We check in and out on our phones so no contact going in and out of the place just wonder if we will be stopped coming and going to and from the cabin.

I was planning on taking a week off to hunt Nevada and then hunt as many of the following states as I could depending on my success: California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. California and Nevada are currently the only two that are still open to non residents and I'm betting that by the time I go they will be closed as well. Ironically this may force me to go to the northeast where the virus is much worse although Ohio has already been shut down to non residents so those dominoes may fall as well. SD and WY should still be good to go.

I only hunt counties in SD and states that I haven't already taken a bird in (its part of the fun for me). I was only able to get one shotgun tag and a bow tag in SD this year and was informed last night that they will not be releasing any of the returned tags to the public. I will not need a week to fill the tags I currently have. WY, NE, MN, ND, FL are out because i have already filled them. I'm doing IA on the 18th. Planning on WI on Memorial weekend and MI if WI goes really quickly. I'm thinking the 24th through May 2nd is probably too late in the season for the deep south if their seasons are even still open then so that kind of leaves just the northeast. Well see though. Nevada is a draw state so if it stays open I will definitely go there even if that is the only state i will be able to hit. Gas is cheap this year so I might just end up having to hit what ever states are still open regardless of how spread out they are.

You almost had it right with your last sentence. The last word in your last sentence you can substitute the t for an f.

Our govoner doesn't want any one from out of state hunting. He just ordered if 2 people go fishing and not from the same house they must drive seperately to boat ramp. He also doesn't want anyone staying in our state unless here fror 14 days.

Nevada is a draw state so if it stays open I will definitely go there even if that is the only state i will be able to hit. Gas is cheap this year so I just end up having to hit what ever states are still open regards of how spread out they are. i dont get too excited about turkey and have waited until the last minute when had time off around the holiday to go. two bad things about michigan late in the season is that the foilage/fields can start to get pretty thick and hard to see at least in southern zones but probably that way everywhere as pushing to June. and by then birds have been chased for 5-6 weeks, many mature birds are harvested leaving lots of jakes and mature silent birds. but way more birds around this spring than ive seen in long time so id think you find birds without too much effort. at this point governor hasnt restricted outdoor activities as long as maintain 6 foot distancing. i do know police have been ticketing people this last week in my area for not adhering to social distancing while on state lands so that is a potential bad sign that governor could restrict access to public lands in future. governor did extend our stay at home orders yesterday thru this month and added some new stores as off limits. she has already stated her intention is for the restrictions to be in place well into the summer so i'd expect they are extended thru entire spring turkey season. hopefully it wont impact your plans
