Anyone on here have any experience with these? An auction that takes place here every spring is usually live but due to the virus it is online live auction this year. Trying to register and it wants banking information (which always makes me nervous) it is titled equipmentfacts and has a privacy policy through sandhills group company. Thanks.

I have purchased two trucks and bid on tractors and equipment online. I have been pleased.

You can usually preview the items. I haven't had any problems with equipmentfacts.

Sandhills is a reputable company in my experience. Dealt with a lotta $$$$ of equipment through their various entities and never had any thing to fault them on with how they handled their part of the business.

There are millions of dollars spent through online auctions daily. They’re perfectly safe these days.

Without having everyones banking information the seller and auction house have no guarantee that a buyer or his bids are legit. The security was perfected for companies like Superior Livestock where the smallest lot might be a pot load of weanling cattle in Idaho that sells to a man who has wheat pasture in the panhandle region.

The math can get big. Say 49,000#s @ $1.75/ pound X 8 truck loads. Because these bugs get big security had to be outstanding

My work uses Purple wave to sell stuff, and I think it works pretty good. The auction company puts up a few pictures, a short video, and a description (including what's wrong with the vehicle). People are welcome to come and look at each vehicle, but they usually don't. They can start it and look inside, but not drive it. Not coming to look at a vehicle in person is the biggest problem we have. People get (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) when they show up to pick up a vehicle and it's not what they thought. One time a body shop came to pick up a white dodge charger, and was (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) because each body panel was a different shade of white, which didn't show up in the online pics, and they were going to have to repaint the whole thing. People also sometimes don't understand that when they show up to pick up the vehicle, it's their vehicle, they own it along with any problems. If the battery is dead, we'll jump start it, but nothing else. If it doesn't run or it doesn't move or you don't have a way to load it up, that's tough, better call a tow truck.
