Oh turkeys are still there. Problen is this wood lot is small and i can only hunt a couple acres on the edge. 3 years ago i tried it out and it was phenomenal if you hit the right day. Now it looks like a tornado went through. They installed a sawmill on site. Only good news is that it seems they'll be done on my field edge in less than a week. So not sure if they'll be comfortable roosting in this lot with all the commotion and/or come strut to my field edge. My spot is less than 400 yards from the saw. Scouted a place down the road. Zero gobbles this morning. Saw 3 jakes in the road about a mile away. I have other places on my list. Hoped those would be the backups, not primary due to crowds.

was pinned down by a strutter before the snow while huntin sheds.his first gobble was 40 yds from me and made me tinkle awhile.in the next 20 min i watched him breed 2 different hens.this cold snap will hopefully slow em down.

Mark, from my scouting today id say we're right in the middle of break up. Observed 3 different groups. 3 jakes crossing a road. 4 young gobblers and a large flock strutting in the midddle of road. Then near my house a single gobbler in a cut corn field with 2 hens. I dont know why i fret so much about it. There will be gobblers to hunt somewhere when the time comes.

Sat out today the big group was a mile over the dogs would bark the birds would hammer lots of them, the roosts near me were empty still they need to disperse but snow coming in and I’m heading out soon. Went to the back of the property called in 3 jakes let them pass called to see if a gobbler was with them but no go. Called the 3 jakes back and hammered one at 3 yards.

Went to another spot to scout for my buddy and his boy found a gobbler with several hens could of rolled it but no tag and I’d rather call them in then bushwhack a bird.

Every evening and every morning for almost 4 weeks now. Saw longbeard with 5 Jake's yesterday.ive seen 5 single hens in the last week. Bird started gobbling again this morning at 8:30 out back and never stopped until 10:30.dang I wish season would get here !!! My favorite season by far is spring gobbler. Love that adrenaline rush

Life's too short, enjoy everyday like it was your last.
