Versed is what they always gave me when I had a colonoscopy. Nice thing about Versed is as you said, it doesn't last as long and it's an amnesiac. It seems like they just get started and it's over.

I had it done in December, I would take it. It just helped me relax and little. In about 30 minutes I was up and walking out of the office. It took the edge off a little but was able to function normally.

Michael take the pill . You're going to walk into that office and the nurse is going to have you drop your pants and hop up onto the table . There is a few things done to prep and then the boys are going to be pulled up and either through or onto a piece of surgical cloth/paper or whatever . After a few jokes with the nurse and so on the doctor is going to come in and pick up a syringe with a piece of cold , sharp evil looking steel sticking out of one end . Then he's going going to start moving that nasty , evil looking piece of steel towards the boys and you can't help but watch . Then you're gonna start to sweat and feel "a little anxiety" kinda like when the doc says your going to feel " some discomfort". You're going to grab anything you can reach and squeeze it until it either breaks or your knuckles pop . One side went ok , the other didn't . Least thats how I remember it in my nightmares from about 20 years ago . I didn't take the pill . I wish I had or gotten knocked out LOL .

Interesting. I had a vasectomy, back in the day. No mention of taking anything 'to relax me' then. Local anaesthetic and snippety snip! Job done.

Nowadays? Valium's my friend! I have a dodgy back. Misformed vertebrae. All my adult life it's been prone to randomly 'going'. Leaving me flat out, often screaming my lungs raw in agony, despite shovelling down their best pain killers.

About a decade back, it went. Doc was called out as I was found hanging onto a solid object, my strength to hang on fading fast. This Doc gave me a shot of Valium ~ of all things! Ten minutes later, I was bouncing around, feeling like a bit of a fraud!

Happened again, since then. In a bar! Doc came out ~ I was yards from the surgery ~ and stuck one in my leg, right there on my stool. Good as gold, in no time.

Hallucinations though? Good grief, no! shocked

When i had my vasectomy I told the doc i wanted to be asleep when he did the deed. He asked if there was any reason since he usually just does a local with these quick operations. I looked him dead in the eye and said do you really want to have a handful of my cods and start cutting on them with me awake? I am physically alot bigger than this doc. He took a quick look at me and said yep, asleep it will be.

Wasnt a big deal once it was over, just take it easy for a day or so.

This is a group that is set up at the hospital but are not affliliated with the hospital. Seeing less patients but still did the procedure. To be honest I didn’t notice much after taking the Valium. Would feel more from a six pack. Didn’t bother me not being put under

I took it before a procedure once. Doc said take it a half hour before I was scheduled to arive. I lived an hour and a half away. When I was about half hour out I popped the Valium and chased it with a little coffee. I was driving. I felt fine right up to the parking lot. We were looking for a parking spot and my wife said there's one. I said wow, there's 3 right there. She said no, it's just one. I said ok so I guess I will park in the middle one. Didn't hit anything but would never try that again.

Wish I had more time to trap....

I take two before every MRI just clams me enough to go into the tube, especially when my neck is begin scanned, they put a cage thing around your neck and head and it pinches my neck so its a little unnerving.

The pain for me was when the doctor asked if a couple interns could step in to observe the procedure. Of course I said yes. In walked two 20ish pretty female interns. Don't think the needle was bad at all.

I took types same pills for the same procedure. I never felt a thing and talked with the doctor the whole time. I was a little sore the next couple days but it was not a bad experience.

Forgiveness is just a prayer away.

I took one about 45minutes to an hour before my PRK eye surgery and one immediately following once they put me in the car. I was a bit loopy from it. Tried to call several people to tell them about the procedure until my wife took the phone away from me. I remember passing the Jones sausage rd sign in Raleigh on the way home but that’s all I remember until I woke up at 4am. It took me out for 11.5hrs.

One little tip on the vasectomy... when you have to take your sample back to the doctor to be checked, you do NOT need to take a whole quart, they only need a small amount.

Gulo - that experience sounds alot more like an LSD trip rather than valium ? But I have heard some people react alot different to some meds than other people do ?

Speaking of MRI's.I had either been in one before and didn't care for it or I had been told they are really tight to be in and not much fun.So I got myself too loopy on some pain med before going to hospital and once inside the tube I'm falling asleep big time even though it is not comfortable at all.And they were talking to me and give me instructions through what sounded like speakers around me or by my head. And I wake up hearing them sounding p'd off saying "It sounds like he is snoring loud - I think he has fallen asleep lmao !!
