Tuesday, April 7, 2020 Ohio: DNR Temporarily Suspends Sale of Non-Resident Hunting, Fishing Licenses COLUMBUS, Ohio – In response to the public health situation with COVID-19 and the Ohio Department of Health’s (ODH) Stay at Home Order, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is temporarily suspending the sale of non-resident hunting and fishing licenses until further notice. “People entering the state are being asked to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days, making recreational travel unfeasible,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “We look forward to reopening license sales when hunters and anglers can safely return.” This temporary suspension goes into effect at midnight on April 6, 2020. Sales will resume when COVID-19 guidelines change or are lifted. While individuals who currently possess a non-resident hunting or fishing license may hunt or fish in Ohio, they are asked to abide by ODH guidance and self-quarantine for 14 days before they do so. The mission of the Division of Wildlife is to conserve and improve fish and wildlife resources and their habitats for sustainable use and appreciation by all. Visit wildohio.gov to find out more. ODNR ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR website at ohiodnr.gov. -30- For more information, contact: Sarah Wickham, ODNR Communications (614) 265-6860

Probably going to see more states follow suit.

Ohio is also only allowing alcohol sales to Ohio residents in the border counties, because after Pennsylvania banned alcohol sales, the people of Pennsylvania started swarming across the border, like plague rats, to buy booze here in Ohio. Keith They Banned Alcohol sales in Pa ? I thought Booze & Pot were considered essential during the Lockdown ? w

I saw the governor the other day when he spoke about, similar things. They have said that ANYONE coming in from out of state should quarantine themselves in Ohio for 14 days before leaving.
I feel a little like tlguy, with people outside our county. There is a lake just south of me, that has pretty good early fishing and I usually hit a couple of spots during the week when most people are working. My favorite place is an Island that isn't much more than a couple of acres with fishing on 3 sides of it. On the weekends it is filled up with people from Columbus, that is 25 miles away. I ask a friend to check it to see if anyone was fishing out there on the island. When he called me back he said it was elbow to elbow between 50 and 60 people. He tried to count them, but they were moving around so much he couldn't get a good count. He checked out 3 other places on the lake and it was the same everywhere. Now the second highest sick rate for covid-19 in Columbus, Franklin County. SO guess where most of the cars were from?
