Honestly, a lot of guys make the wolf situation sound a lot worse than it actually is although there is areas that have been and still are decimated. And it really does depend on what part of the state you are in. Believe me I am certainly no wolf lover but, In certain parts of the state like where I live, I believe the wolf/elk ratio is starting to level out a bit. Partially due to nature running it’s course and partially due to people in my area doing a great job of managing the wolves. Things have improved pretty greatly in the past 2 or 3 years from what I’ve seen population wise. The worst of it was 7-12 years ago in my area, in my personal experience. And it was bad. Some areas are still completely decimated while others are totally fine in my opinion. That’s a great find! You must be in a rare part of Idaho where the wolves haven’t taken over?

Thanks for your response Ted. I agree, lots seem to want to make the wolf situation worse than it is, or blame them on their own shortcomings as elk and mule deer hunters lol. The panhandle seems to have some legit issues with declining big game populations however. I found more sheds in the last week from the tractor can, than I did on foot looking for them. 7 in the last couple days

Kevin, those are beautiful sheds! Are they all on public land as well? I figured PA would be overrun with shed hunters

My most amazing find. The left side took 0ne hour to find. The right side I found the next morning . It was over in 40 minutes. They where 1 1/2 miles apart in brush country. Crazy Eddie, Are those from OSWEGO COUNTY ? w

Unfortunately there is no market currently, so I will just hang on to them for now. I will venture a guess that the market issue is Covid related??? I will confess that I am indeed envious that you are able to find moose paddles like that while running your trapline, my trapline total this year was two whitetail sheds. I used to concentrate more on shed hunting but it seems competition for that has increased so instead I've put more time into trapping. It's not the money that makes either most appealing and the solitude of trapping (except for my kids being present) makes it more appealing now. Because I pick up a lot of whitetail sheds but get lucky to find a few moose paddles a year and only ever one big set I'm drawn to those big slabs of bone. Anyways, that one set makes me drool.
