That's a good bird and I'm going to bet that isn't the first time Ol Betsy has earned her keep!

Nice! My hunt starts May 9th. Just bought the tag today. I really like the markings on the ol' 870!
When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

I use a Foredom bit (like an industrial sized dremel tool) to engrave the track, then put paint in there to highlight it.

Great hunt! Those toms are staring to drop now, and should only get better in coming weeks.

Explain the top marks on stock please. I assume you mean the round design?....that is my poor rendition of a Bobcat track. The two hash marks under the track are for a couple 'cats I called up and shot with it. All the rest are turkey tracks, one for each Tom killed with the gun. Mine closest to the buttplate under my first initial. One under my All Purpose Boy's first initial, and the others under my late Pappy's first initial. After I'm gone I hope my grandsons add their initials to the reverse side and fill that stock full up! ..........Oops! The single track is under my Pappy's initial, the three are under my sons.

I think it is refreshing to see men still taking turkeys with a bone stock pump gun as opposed to a turkey tactical with a scope and a swiveling bipod that costs more than the old bone stock, get the job done, blue metal over wood stocks & forearms scatter guns ever cost in the first place.
