So humble and matter of fact in that video. Unbelievable, RIP.

Rest In Peace CSM Adkins.

World does not get many men like that. Is a real shame when one of them passes. If there is an afterlife I hope he enjoys his.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

RIP, Command Sergeant Major Bennie G. Adkins,

(I'd blast out 20 push ups (just got done with mine) if you can but definitely DON'T call him SIR, just fair warning to you)

Sargent Major, go easy now, we got it from here. Thank you for who your were and what you've done.

Some of us actually appreciate and hold dear to those values.....

Keep your boots dry and your powder too.

I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it.

Best Regards,

JT

He was an amazing man. I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of times as we live in the same town. He was a no nonsense type of man that never sought the spotlight. He had some really good stories. Lt. Gen Hal Moore also lived in our community and I was fortunate to meet him. Another highly decorated Vietnam veteran-Col Robert Howard was from Opelika Al...google his name-amazing person. Opelika and Auburn are “sister” cities. Sad to see these heroes leave us.

The stories of these men and what they have done for our country should be taught in every school in America so that the next generation's may understand what some folks did so that we can enjoy the freedom's that we have and sometimes take for granted. May we never forget the sacrifices so many have made and continue to make for us all.

Rest well soldier
