Boco on my friend's Dave line in North Bay.
I skinned one of the rats and gave her the carcass, the mink pulled it under the bush pile and ate it right there, I thought I had filmed it but must have pushed the wrong button. Was the neatest thing going.

Something that was interesting this year we were on the river right after the ice went out and our muskrat catch had almost no bites or damages.

I had my floats in the water right at Ice out this spring and for 4 days caught almost nothing
and then It was like flood gates opening, and a light switch being flipped.

The rats started moving and they couldn't climb on the floats fast enough !!

I know when in SD if there was open water, rats are there in mass. I seen lots of open water in that video with three days of running with like ten rats. It was worth the watch because I had nothing better to do. LLL

When I trapped In ND we checked twice a day and normally caught 300 + rats a day.

But we had some great rat habitat.

Enjoyed the flick.

How come you didn't go this spring, Beav ?

Are you now retired from high volume rat trapping ?

Can I have your traps

Can I have your Ultimate Rat Floats ? laugh

We don't have much of a muskrat population and the weather sure did not cooperate, my next little video will show a better day's catch. We have a very extended spring season here and going out for spring muskrats is more for personal enjoyment than any hope of a profit.

Real nice time to be out on the land.
Jim,didnt some trappers used to take a lot of rats out on the west arm of nippissing if I'm not mistaken.

$300.00 permit $300.00 per week rent on house. ND rats bring about $2.00 less then our rats. And with the way the rat market Is you just can't afford to trap rats In ND.

Yes he used to use an air-boat in the fall. Not sure if he even goes anymore.
