I love listening to Thomas Sowell.
I'll have to check out Walter Williams. They are cut from the same cloth ! Does Williams hold the same view of the Federal Reserve as Sowell?

WHY is the L and S strain of the virus only mentioned in the newscientist.com? The medical community doesn't even know how its actually transmitted let alone the strain or where it came from for sure!

What Danny said. For those of you that have never been to California nor the 5 boroughs of New York it is totally different, in the mindset & living setup. I've spent most of my adult life between them. What I refer to as the LA area (most of Southern California) consists of what most of us would consider unlivable, 200 foot x 400 foot lots with a 1000 square foot house on them. (That's a nice sized home for middle class there) miles upon mile upon miles of them. Unbelievable to us country boys. BUT - in the land of fruits & nuts they will (and have) take things like this darn serious very quickly. 3 weeks ago we called them scared drama queens, now we're asking why is the infection/ death rated so much lower. Think China/Japan/herd mentality. New York City - until you go see you won't know, 10 story apartment buildings shoulder to shoulder. 250 people per building? Shoulder to shoulder. Until you've walked the streets of New York you just can't realize how many people we are talking about for such a small area. It is just impossible for you all living on a section of land to imagine it. Manhattan alone has 1.6 + people living there, that is 14,480 acres, 22 1/2 sections. That is over 74 thousand people living on your section of land. Now perhaps you can see the what & why ? Sorry, had to edit this post. A word about New Yorkers attitude- friendlier folks you'll never meet, cut you off in traffic & thank you for it. Got a big truck that has to be backed in a dock on a very (ment for horse & carriage) narrow road ? They will stop traffic & holler at anyone messing with you, I just love them darn aggressive abusive big hearted New Yorkers. BUT - that attitude also has allowed this virus infection to happen there. IT WOULD NOT DARE ATTACK US. They did not jump on the scared band wagon soon enough & our fellow countrymen there are paying a horrendous price now. On a personal note - for all of you county boys that are saying the heck with the big city folks. They are no different from us, kids, parents, grandparents just living & loving in a different environment. The Lord may not have the same opinion as you on this subject.

Harleydparts. IDK if you are right but everything you said makes sense. I have worked in both places a lot but probably not as much as you and I know you are right. The friends I have in SoCal are knocking down massive salaries and commissions compared to me but they need to become a studio might cost them 5k every month. You and I could own a section of ground with 3 cabins on it for less.
In NY it makes me closterphobic (sp?). Ppl are so (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) close you smell them and can feel their body heat. It's like a closed in chicken coop in Jan. It's hot inside and all of NYC makes me need more daggum air.
I dont know if you are right or not,, but I do know it would take a smarter man than myself to fund a flaw in your logic. I tip my hat to you. (Repect)

Need to find out how many died from pneumonia and flu like symptoms that didn't test positive for the flu, in California this past winter. My guess is it's not that big of a deal oh, until the media makes it a big deal. If you take the worst case scenario, being a predicted 2 million dead in the United States if you take no action at all. You take two away from 330 of anything. Does anybody really notice?

Just read on Fox News. A study shows 28 to 55 times more California’s have had the virus than previously thought. I still think Rush nailed it a few weeks ago. Never posted a link before. Can somebody link the story.

I would like to be tested and find out if I have already had it. Sure sounds like only a handful of people who are exposed get bad sick.

Thanks Danny. I heard yesterday they are thinking 1 out of a thousand on the death rate.

My wife was sick in December, couldn't breath right, low fever and cough. Finally went to the doc who said she had pneumonia, she was given steroids, and an albuterol nebulizer and slowly got better, I've had a chronic cough since soon after she got sick, this was just before the Wuhan flu irruption. A friend of mine was very sick since late nov. Had the flu shot, not the flue, had pain in the chest and numbness in his left hand and arm, had a battery of tests with no results, finally the doctors claimed he had a "mucous" plug in his lung and it had to work it's way out.....
I now think these were probably the virus, and it's been around since late november and december,

Exercise and good eating habits are essential to overall health. We know the people dying have preexisting health conditions. I imagine lifestyle choices play a large part in who becomes symptomatic.
