That is my way of thinking too, but the only purpose they are good for is a windbreak, and that is why I have them here at home. Guess I'll have to buy my apples!



Watch a few cedars burn in a wild fire and you won't have them near tbe house.

Understand, Okie, we burn this country near every spring to keep the brush and ceders out. They are not that close to my buildings, and like I said, only good for windbreaks. Just too close to my fruit trees!

Me too! Lost a young gala tree a few years back! (My favorite apple) What I don't know is how far the apple trees need to be from. the ceders.

A forester told me 1/4 mile, but the spores are capable of traveling a mile in the right conditions. so much here growing some types of apples is impossible. your only option is spray after every rain.
