I would love to taut how a rub set or trail set up against a rock face are proof that cats are not using their nose but the truth is I catch too many in the most subtle lured coyote sets I make.
I consider it a good problem to have LOL
It is cool how he really never breaks stride and just waltzes thru like it is nothing

Is the glass half full or half empty? I see it different than posted. This shows how heavily you can block a cat to get it to step where you want. That is how I see it anyway.
Wish I had more time to trap....

The way I interpreded it also. X3- I didn't want to poo poo on Laz's post but that is exactly what went thru my mind. Then I remember boxing in some exposed sets and thinking "Wow, it looks like 2 seven year olds just made a gag set" only to find a cat snagged up in the brush nearby at some point.
There is a huge reaction difference tho, Laz nailed that. The cat waltzes through w/o even giving it a thought and the dog starts using his nose. He is probably thinking "What prick laid this out?"

x4 strike2.
Great video.
On the first attempt, the dog avoided the domino's well but couldn't resist stopping to sniff a foreign object even in mid stride. He only knocked 1 down with his right hind leg as he took his time investigating the foreign objects. the 2nd time he was rushed (maybe because the owner called it) but the 3rd time he slowed down but once one was knocked down he was startled then rushed.

Wow, that's really interesting! It chooses the path of least resistance and does so automatically. After he added blocks up against the wall, the cat instantly found the widest opening/path and followed it. If you pause it at 1:10 you can see the widest opening. Not wider by much, but enough that the cat sees it and goes right to it. Having found that foreign video on cat behavior, tells you where Tracy's mind is all the time.
