Just listened to a snippet on talk radio about this something about using reclaimed fur. Sounds a little suspect, anyone else have any knowledge of this? It was only a ten second piece.

They’re just planning on using road killed fur bearers from what I’ve read. Money saving measure.

I gave them 5 years back when the company went public. Pretty close.

A couple year back CG wanted trappers to sign saying that their coyotes were taken in accordance to the law. Trappers said pound sand. CG said then they would move away from fur with out it. The same thing happened with LL Bean in the 1970's. Who fault was it?

This summary is not accurate imo

Are you sure it doesn't go like this.

Even with trappers signing papers confirming all laws were followed, Canada Goose is still moving away from fur?

they have announced that beginning in 2022 they will begin using only reclaimed fur in the manufacturing of their parka's. There will still be stores with Virgin coyote fur available until the supply runs out. They state that they will buy no new pelts beginning mid 2020.

Let's face it, Canada goose, like virtually any big business, is chasing the dollar. If public opinion swings back in the years ahead and a component of fur fashion or trends means profit, they'll swing right back.

While not a huge market like Canada Goose, I've seen here in SK local businesses that specialize in fur trimmed garments pop up and really thrive and grow. I see no reason why that trend can not continue.

This is an example of one that has really started to thrive and grow.

"But on Wednesday, Canada Goose announced that starting in 2022, the company will no longer buy new fur from trappers. By then, Canada Goose will use reclaimed fur, the company said — fur that already exists in its supply chain and the marketplace. As part of this effort, Canada Goose, which is based in Toronto, plans to begin buying back the fur ruffs from customers’ coats — with the intention of recycling the fur — in the coming months."

How the heck is that going to work?

Cg has a history of lying to consumers. Probably more of the same.

So does buying from fur buyers/auction houses count?

Crazy! I just so happen to have a closet full of coyote ruffs that I already removed from CG jackets. Dont mind the fact that they look untanned and coyote shaped.
