Probably 25 years ago I was sitting at a picnic table eating my lunch and having a lot of trouble with the skin of my navel orange which was resisting my best efforts to peel it cleanly off.
I heard a voice from near by pipe up asking.........
"Why don't you roll your orange" ?
It was a young girl about 14.
I asked her what she meant and told her to show me as I had two oranges.
She promptly took my 2nd orange and proceeded to roll it firmly around the hard surface of the picnic table for a half minute or so with the heel of her hand and then handed it back.
To my utter surprise, I was now able to peel the orange rind off of the orange in one complete piece leaving next to none of the spongy white residue which often accompanies a difficult to peel orange.
This may or may not be common knowledge, but I thought I would share it with the trapperman brain trust if the Quarantine finds you struggling with your orange peel.
Try it and you may be amazed if you didn't already know.
Carry on.

I'll try it too. How do you peel a banana? I just was taught to hold the stem and peel it from the other end. It's easier then staring to peel from the stem end. Only took more than sixty years to learn. Lol

All good advice. Great to see others sharing it too. After all, none of us are born knowing.
