I wonder which one will be promoted and pushed by media and the CDC ?

"Gilead is providing the entirety of this existing supply at no cost, to treat patients with the most severe symptoms of COVID-19. The 1.5 million individual doses are available for compassionate use, expanded access and clinical trials and will be donated for broader distribution following any potential future regulatory authorizations. These doses are for treating patients with severe symptoms, through daily intravenous infusions in a hospital setting. Having a potential treatment in our hands comes with significant responsibility. Providing our existing supplies at no charge is the right thing to do, to facilitate access to patients as quickly as possible and in recognition of the public emergency posed by this pandemic."

Very cool of them , was asking .
Doesn't mention future production , and they should get paid for that , no ?
Kinda like when a coke dealer lays out a free line ,
then asks if you want to buy any .

I hope it works , don't get me wrong .

Yes they should get paid for it in the future IF..it is viable.

This isn't the first go around for Gilead.

A few years ago they invented an absolute cure for hepatitis. The 30 day treatment cost $95,000 per person. The company donated the treatment to anyone who needed it but could not afford it. I have two close friends that used it and are now free of Hep C. They paid nothing for the drug.

Danvee you are right but every procedure/drug ever given is an experiment. There is constant improvement a little bit at a time. With this there is a big jump because the disease just came to people in the last few months and there will be problems for some. The medical profession just hope that the problem patients are rare and far apart, no one know yet. At least these drugs have been around for quite a while. The vaccine is a different story when that comes and it will, but there will be big risks at first, finding the right doses and who who can and cannot take it.....jk

It's not science unless there is a control group and it also doesn't say anything about cost, administration or availability.

At this point there's not much to go on.

Sounds like good news to me.
Thanks.

If anybody had doubts about whether or not WHO and, for that matter, Financial Times are unbiased and not political. This episode should put this to bed. If you believe WHO posted the results of this trial accidentally, you should think again. This was an incomplete Chinese trial and Gilead has already, uncharacteristically, pushed back and stated those findings don't exactly agree with what they are seeing in their own trials.

I think we should wait to see Gilead's results before making our minds up on Remdesivir.

Yahoo Finance is ALMOST as biased as WHO and FT.

I'll point out that Gilead donated the drug to China in order to conduct randomized trials. When they saw preliminary reactions to the drug, China started taking actions to patent the drug even though it was developed by Gilead. If it's a failure, why would China do that ?

It may very well turn out to be a flop but both China and WHO are involved in damage control while trying to get control of the drug. That's my opinion.

Right now there is no daylight between the leadership of the WHO and the CCP. Disgusting!

Gilead has released some findings and they are positive. They contradict information provided by WHO and CCP.
