Can some of you give me a fur shed checklist? Basically your opinion on what should be in a fur shed. I'm gonna be doing coyotes, fox, weasel, mink, muskrat, coon, skunk and beaver. Thanks!

Rule #1: make it twice as large as you think you will need. Rule #2: make it twice as large as you think you will need.
Just doing what I want now.

Obviously, you'll need a fleshing beam, boards and room to hang them, but there are lots of little things to think about too. Just a few:
Lighting: You'll probably need more than you think. You need plenty of light to work. Air circulation: Make sure you can move air around. Fans are your friend. Organization: A rack or shelf to hang your knives, etc. However it works for you to keep your tools handy and organized. Heat: Lots of options here, but I like my electric wall mounted heater. I can easily maintain whatever temp I want.
Like I said, these are just a few things to consider. The great thing about it is you can set it up how you think you want it, and then can change things as you see fit. Have fun with it! Thanks!

Heater, a fan, lighting, come to mind. You will like plenty of height for coyotes if you plan on skinning machine at some point. I think at least 10 feet if I'm remembering what I read on here. ( I had the same questions since I'm planning on building a dedicated fur shed this year). Thanks!

Room for a freezer or two.......handy to have in the shop. Stainless sink is awesome to have. Like to put up peg board for all my tools, knifes, etc. you end up doing small repairs on traps and making extra snares on the fly during the season. I have two big butcher top islands I picked up from a restaurant that was going out of business. They are on castors with a cabinet underneath. The more work tops you have the better. My floor is concrete and tapered to the centre with a drain. Come clean-up time hose everything down and squeegee the water to the drain. And the most important spot is a comfortable chair by the fire for the old trappers that can sit and tell you story's of the good old days well you skin.
