Gov Walz of Minnesota gave a press conference on Thursday. Buried in his 1 hour sales pitch to continue quarantine was a statement to the effect: "Sooner or later we are all going to get it."
If that is true, and I believe it is; let's go about our business. Three cheers for Georgia, and Sweden while we're at it.
Man who mistake shillelagh for fairy wand; see pixie dust, also.

I don't see this as "Rights vs wrong", or even "right or wrong"........it should be a common sense, fact based decision.
For example.......if you asked the Governor or mayors.......how many people......right now........people walking around on the streets of Athens or Atlanta or any other town or city in GA.........how many are testing positive for the virus? They don't know. How many.....if you tested them........would test positive for the antibodies? They don't know. The people making the decisions.......and those being critical......don't know. They could know if they bothered to do random testing for both, but that does not seem to be the case. If it is.....neither side has said so.
What we do know is that anywhere you look, be it a cruise ship, an aircraft carrier......a meat packing plant......NYC......New Orleans.......prisons, a nursing home........there are only so many people in any of these closed environment situations that seem to even get the virus......let alone get sick enough to require treatment for it, let alone die from it.
Saline County, MO now has about 120 folks testing positive. Nearly all of those are employees of meat packing plants. Of those, only 3 are actually in hospitals. That is out of a county with about 20,000 total population. This is not the end of days scenario we were told it was going to be.
Next question.......what is the difference between an "essential" worker vs. one that is "non-essential"? Do not both sets of folks face the same risks? Is a checkout clerk at Walmart at any less risk than the same person at Hobby Lobby? One is essential, the other is not.
Instead, when you watch reports, media reports things in such as way as to influence opinion....not to inform you of facts. Doesn't a flight attendant on a Delta flight face as much or greater risk than a barber? Yet one is OK.....essential......the other is deemed more or less frivolous........and should not be happening. In how many reports of the GA situation have you seen references to bowling alleys? Like that is a major risk to all mankind.
So the facts seem to be this is not going to be a widespread "end of days" event, so take off all the stay at home orders........let folks open up that want to, let folks stay home if they want to......and let the chips fall where they may.

The same discernment that causes zebra to run from hungry lions and not lounging ones has been taught out of people for the past 45 years.
Good luck with the common sense thingy.

He’s 100% right. We can’t have a national policy based on what’s happening in NYC. Get back to work America!!!

Everybody is going to get Covid19. It's like the cold - everybody gets it eventually. As we all know, flattening the curve is about not overwhelming the healthcare system. It's not going to prevent us from getting it, just spread out when we get it.
We could (1) let everybody get it at once and overwhelm the hospitals and lots more people die because they can't get a bed, (2) shut down everything and lock everybody at home. This prevents the spread but destroys the country, and infections will peak again when we start socializing again.
Or....
We can open and close that valve to control how many get it. Shut some things down, open others and keep adjusting that throttle to control the numbers. Keep the infection rate low enough that the hospitals can handle it but keep the infection rate high enough that we can get this over with and get back to work.
We're going to see a lot of moving that throttle over the next few months as they try to get just the right infection rate.

If by opening and closing the valve you mean the economy forget it.The economy doesn't work that way.Open it up and get out of the way
