Only that some pressure treated wood will eat alluminum. Apparently there some kinds that are safe but I don't know the difference.

This is true. Iíve seen aluminum fascia rot apart when it was used to cover treated lumber poles in pole buildings.

X3 on don't use treated wood for the floor. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Lowes sells marine carpet, usually used on trailer bunks but should work for the deck.

You might try some vinyl covered flooring like they put in say a newer Lund. Way easier to keep clean than carpet.

If the treated wood has copper, you get galvanic corrosion without some kind of barrier preventing contact with with the aluminum.

I just installed maridek in my boat. Use a indoor outdoor carpet glue and give it time to set up before covering. I used a roofing roller to roll the bubbles out, always rolling in same direction. The carpet in my boat weighed 60 pounds when i removed it. Had a lot of sand in it. I have a couple of pictures i have to edit.

Help yourself.

I redid a Lund Mr. Pike that the previous owner converted from a side steer (small console) to a tiller control.

I used 5/8 treated plywood cut in 3 panels to replace the floor. The manufacturer uses a one piece of ply, but I needed the separate panels to plumb the storage/seat that sat behind the removed console that I turned into a huge live well.

The current treated plywood uses a non corrosive treatment hat the older ground contact treated wood uses.

When I used the separate three panel floor I had to add an aluminum L channel to a few of the ribs that ran across the inside of the hull with heavy duty pop rivets. I "blueprinted" my hull to locate the rib locations, as once you lay the pieces of plywood down, you'll have no idea where the ribs are. I covered the pieces of plywood with the Lund grey vinyl sheet flooring and the big Lund pop rivets that the factory uses. If I had to do it again I would Rhino Hide the floor in the light grey they sell. It would be a lot cheaper and would be a better surface.

Before starting, look at some YouTube videos on redoing floors for other ideas. I added a 12 gallon gas tank under the floor of the boat, which eliviated having a couple big red plastic gas tanks in back of the boat. It's mounted up front with the hose running under the floor to the tiller motor. I put some of the screw open, round 8" hatches over the gas tank and live well hose connections in case I had to get in and redo anything.

Also think of running an electrical conduit chase back to the battery and switch panel for any wires for bow or interior light.

Make sure you use stainless screws if you don't use the 60 cent apiece rivets and be careful you don't drill through the hull. LOL

I sent you a PM also

The #1 rule to follow when working on a boat is there is no shortcut. Do it the right way or don't do it at all. Otherwise all the advice here is sound. Use marine plywood and good glue for the carpet

A good source of info is TinBoats.com in the forum section. Also there are a lot of videos on you tube of boat modifications.

Regular exterior plywood is fine. You will want to use stainless screws. I know that sounds obvious, but many people don't.

Marine grade plywood is safe for aluminum and doesnít have as many voids in the layers. Voids get water in them and expand when freezing. That causes delamination.

Ive re done two boats in the last few years and went from carpet to paint in one and carpet to epoxy in the other. I canít see me ever going back to carpet. SS screws and watch the length when you get close to the edge.

If you need to replace wood use Marine grade as far as carpet there is a grain on carpet lay it the same direction or it will look bad, like it is two shades of carpet since the light hits it different. I would use vinyl that is just my choice way easier to take care off. It will not soak up water collect dirt and you don't snag hooks in it and it is way cheaper and easier to work with 10 times easier. The only downside I notice with vinyl is if you are barefoot on it, its hotter. When you clean it up you will smile though, car wash and the dirt blows out driving home.

Something special. Textured way more than vinyl flooring and made to take the sun and UV. Go to a Lund dealer and look and feel what it is like.
