Planted these squash, cucumbers and pumpkins 8 days ago. Had some pop after 2 days. Things must have been just right for us this year because some years it is a struggle to get much of anything

The tomatoes are doing well also. They been planted for a while now but have had a great year with them also. Some stuff will go in the ground very soon.

Lets see your plants.

So fun to see plants growing to harvest . Nice ones, snowy.

Someday I want to grow a few small tomato plants and herbs inside, year round, to enjoy fresh produce even in winter...have you ever done that ? I haven't looked into this yet, but someday that's my goal.

Having a hard time with Swiss Chard. No plants to be had in town, and our seed germination is about 10% and they look bad.

Love my garden and raising critters nothing like being close to the land. It has always amazed me to see a gigantic cottonwood on the river bottom and know it came from a seed the size of a grain of salt.

^ and if that tree could talk, it would be able to tell some wild west stories. Lol That is so true and I have thought about the same thing many times. The cedar trees, western red cedar are old and grow very slow.

Did you ever notice how the coarse of the rivers and creeks have changed over the last couple hundreds of years. You can see old stumps of where the water use to run. Sad without flooding on a lot of western rivers not a lot of new trees coming in especially the cottonwood which takes flooding. Still a lot not changed especially in the highline of Montana.

Yes your plants look very green, healthy and strong. I chickened out so t speak this year. I will set up for next year. I bought some old hay last year from our son's neighbor. She did not want anything but I gave her what I felt was fair and she stated that she would like to give me a bunch of plants. She raises organic plants and has a CSA and does a good job so I felt hey yes I will take some. I am getting a couple dozen tomatoes, some green and hot peepers, broccoli, cauliflower etc. That will go a long way towards getting my plantings in. I unfortunately don't have organic soil to put them in but there has been no spray or organic fertilizer for 3 years.

snowy, Don't let the warm weather fool you. It was 28 here this morning. A year ago we had about 4" of snow fall.

Same here Snowy never trust a warm weather plant till 2nd week of June after that your good to go except for to hot, to much wind, deer, oh and a bit of hail. After all that your good to go! Snow peas love them, lots of good eating and they are hearty, cabbage, spuds, onions, greens including kale, lettuce, chard and arugula. We do get plenty of time for tomatoes, peppers and even cantaloupe but just when they come on good we get the Oct. 10 frost and it sneaks in. Who the heck started this thread! Its a great thread, Im so sick of the other threads about the virus, the government and fur prices. Love this thread hope you all have a good garden and keep healthy being in the back 40

Planted these first of April. Have neglected them a little this year, need a little tlc. Been pretty cold here so they haven't made it out on the back porch to get some real sunlight. Artificial light gets the job done but nothing like the real stuff.
