As I was making a chin strap for my Indiana Jones style "yard hat" today, out of paracord, I couldn't help but break out in laughter, because that is my "thing." I use paracord for everything, from limb lines, to skinning gambrels, and anything else you can think of. Just got me laughing a little bit, maybe we can learn what some of you do on the trapline, that is your "thing."

14ga wire is my thing.I use it a lot from temporary repairs on motorized stuff,to killing stuff, and everything in between. And wire is cheap.

I'm a wire guy too Boco, but paracord is my 1st thought if anything ever goes awry!

My thing is using anything but bait. Lure, urine, visual attractants, and blind sets. I was always that way even up in Kansas but here in Texas we don't have winter to force the bugs into hibernation so bait gets to warm or too buggy for my tastes. I know it works but I avoid it

Most go to item has to be the pliers in my overall pocket..hard to say what goes with that for used items? In my truck I do have zip ties stashed all over.. Also a part roll of 14ga wire fits nice stuffed in center of roll duck tape..Try not to leave home without it.

Yes duct tape and wire, good vice grips in truck has saved the day.
Something stout enough to pry a bent fender away from a tire.
Lightly tethered sharp razor knife, if you are upside down in truck, the seat belt wont release.
Yeah, I worked off road some.

An acquaintance, "what is all this junk in your truck?"
Me, "Get out" lol

This one is going to be odd but PVC. If it need a frame of some sort or a tube to let something out I can usually rig something with PVC. My most odd item was a pesticide fogger using a clean out plug to make a chamber to drop a roach fogger into with a reducer tee to make the "wand".

550 cord, electrical tape and nashua duct tape. Sometimes wire. If it cant be fixed with some mixture of those...then its broken.

Leatherman, duct tape, jb weld, and seine twine. I've always got those with me or very nearby. I even stash them in my checked bags when I travel out-of-state.

Pliers, balling wire, duct tape, and zip ties, all essential.
