WOW! I have made upwards of a thousand ulu in my day, most in a traditional Inuit pattern, and nothing that large. That is really impressive! Now that I have all my body parts relatively intact, and can actually work in my shop again, I might have to give something like that a try.

that was very slick looking , looks like a carbon steel knife maybe made locally out of circular saw blades.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I worked at Monforts for a season and it was mostly illegals, some of the hardest working folks and very dedicated and skilled at what they did.

BillyTraps moosetrot builds them so he mentioned then I'd suggest getting New house 114 to fit a ivory handle on it .

That fella is a true artist with that Ulu that's for sure !

Very slick uluk work.

Some trivia: In Newfoundland at the height of the seal fishery there was actually a seal skinners union. Hundreds of thousands of harp seal skins had to be processed with uluit (remove fat from the skins) in a very short period of time late March and early April each year. Some of those people had to be pretty slick too as it was piece work.

Uluk is the original Inuktitut name but it has been chopped to ulu; uluit is plural. Uluk is pronounced to an English speaker: Ou look

I always enjoy watching people at work who are very good at what they do.
