Cedar Hacker OP trapper C Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,140 Texas Hill Country	About all that is on the news now days is the Covid virus but life is actually going on out in the real world outside of the cities. A fire started out west of me just east of the Pecos River on April 19th. and has burned about 30,000 acres. Very rough terrain and hard to fight. Men, dozers, planes, and helicopters were all used. Last night it was about over at 90% contained. Lots of sotol out there so it will have to be watched closely for at least another week or so as that stuff can hold a smolder in it for days and a little wind will set it off. Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.

Don't feel bad it wasn't that long ago we had the " lone tree complex fire " that took out nearly 500,000 acres and didn't see anything on any news station either . I can't remember how many ranch families were burned out during that one .

They will dry out in a hurry in temperatures like that and be lots of fuel for fires. Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.
