Trappers are pretty late adopters to technology. A true sample might be compromised if you went away from paper. I did notice you could cut the cost down by putting your stamp on it when you return it. wink

I can live with any answer and frankly I don't think I would say I would always pick one or the other. I lean heavy one way but at some point, the juice isn't worth the squeeze. The value comes in trappers being reminded there is always a trade off.

I suppose. And yes I will forfeit my stamp.

Answer the zone questions, skip the clutter.

Shorter seasons, no wait.

Clutter? MN closes what feb 28? May as well close Jan 15.
Thanks for nothing. Definitely missing the boat over there.

Well I shouldn’t drag the regulatory flaws of MN into this. Apologies

I didn't miss anything. You misunderstood what I was trying to express.

I'll say it more succinct. If it were me I'd answer the questions pertaining to the zones and expanding opportunity.

What value does the rest of.rhe.survey have? Same questions they ask every year? Clutter.

No apologies necessary concerning MN's season framework. I totally agree with what you are laying down.

My answer was in response to Justin's question about surveys being poisonous. They generally are , it's too bad seasons can't be set on biological grounds and not sentiment.

Why not have a April closing state wide? When the rats start to get bit up we stop trapping them.

Thanks for clarification. I truly misunderstood your response.

What makes a trapper related survey poisonous or not worth completing?

a. The questions asked and how asked?
b. The responses to the survey
c. The fact that they are randomly distributed and not to all trapping licenses holders?

I completed mine and did not think as much as some have about being a bad thing to do. Who gets involved in establishing the questions?

Bryce

Just to be clear, I have no issues with any of the questions. Mine was sent back on my dime.

That said, when we don't like the results, we tend to want to blame others instead of taking responsibility. IMO, trappers lack of accountability to own the questionnaire is the only time we run into trouble.

Our biggest problems come from within. Address them or someone else will and you won't like the way they did it.

I knew this On line cluster was going to be a bad thing.

There seems to be an echo here. I thought the spring hearings had their own thread? So is this hijacking or just a little detour?

No results for the spring questionairre, but I did see the results from the county deer advisory councils are up. I would to hear your thoughts on your county. Did they get it right? We might as well talk about something that we can review at this time.

I reviewed the two counties I responded to, the one where I live and hunt minimally and the one where we hunt the most time. I can't believe the books that are written for each county on all the thoughts and if one could find any common ground in those paragraphs it would be a miracle for sure. Some counties have twice the persons that hunt the county that live there yet the decisions are made by only residents, to me that does not allow one much voice other than deal with what others feel is best.

I could care less, I kill 3 deer a year and what ever they come up with has no effect on me.

Do the results get published, if so where can I find them?

I’m referring to the trapper survey. No interest in deer.

Yes. Just Google WI trapper survey and you should get two different years;otherwise, I included the link to the most recent one published.

Are we "fixing" the season dates again? I wonder if anyone will be happy now or will have to "fix" them again next time rat prices go up.

It's like deja vu all over again.
