Way to go Wolfdog. Congratulations on finally getting it done. Kind of like coyotes the first is the hardest.
You’re right about the shoats and sows too. Keep them under a couple hundred for decent eating.

nice

maybe cook up a bunch and shred it , season it and freeze in weekly servings.

you could make a year of Taco Tuesday heat and eat shredded pork taco meat from a pig like that.

To save you some heartache later, don't get blood on your nice gun. It will rust it fast!

Great job, now only a couple million to go and you’ll have put a dent in them!
We can normally tell what’s for to eat by the time you get about 10-15 yards away. I’ve actually smelled them before shooting and know right off the bat that that’s mine is going to be buzzard food. What’s crazy is our coyotes won’t touch them. I put a camera on a pipe of them and 3000+ pics later it was all buzzards and a few hawks.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I only too the shoulders hams ,back straps and lions it still ended up with close to 60lbs worth of meat. Girlfriend aunt already called the hams and I'll probably give the shoulder to some of the older folks in the neighborhood. Gave the old man the loins for helping me with the tractor and I'm keeping the straps for my self. Honestly need to work on my butchering skills but all and all I think it came out ok.

I'm not gonna lie, this wasn't a super hard hunt but it was still awsome ! I think start to finish I had many five minutes. Light just parked in the drive way listened for him hitting the feeder and walked up to the spot I planned out.

If it had been a couple of shoats or a sow kilt, "Nope, I didn't see a thing." smile
Well, maybe me anyway. I'll bet Wolfie woulda still give most of it away.

Good job Wolfdog!! We don't have those nasties up here but I sure wouldn't mind knocking a few over.

You still in the National Guard? Any talk of deploying your unit in the next year or so...? My youngest kid is going to drier parts east of here in a bit. His mom is going to be anxious the whole time he's gone. He's thinks it will be better than sitting in semi-limbo covid land of at his base. I agree. Life has risks, roll the dice and win...

Yes Sir I! Still in, actually ETS this year. If he goes where I did he should be fine if he can deal with the heat and sand. Not sure how cirvid is affecting the middle east stations though. I know my buddy in Korea has been stuck there an extra three months or so
