James, the Founding Fathers SPECIFICALLY added the Second Amendment to ENSURE that government would not overstep their bounds; and that if they did, Citizens could DO something about it.

it's history, James.

Don't present facts to James, he can't handle the truth.

There will be more of these demonstrations if the Government keeps abandoning the Constitution.

The American public never should have let them get away with any of it to begin with. Hopefully, we have all learned a lesson.

This was just a test and look how many sheep folded. The next time is going to be worse, and the liberal and Democrat voters will be saying whoa is me. Things are going to get worse.

I don't think protesters like that are going to help the 2nd amendment cause We have open carry here in Wyoming and a lot of places private businesses are shutting it down because of stuff like what is going on in Michigan. We had a guy that just had to carry in Walmart AR and sidearm and they shut it down as well as government offices and bars and now some restaurants. When I carry it is concealed and really thinking tactically its better in most cases unless your in a bad situation. Most folks I see packing a side arm would loose it pretty easy if someone with a bit of practice wanted to take it from them. Hope they don't loose their open carry because of a few protesters wanting to show off.

The 2nd doesn't need any help, the Gov. wants to take guns add an amendment. Or do away with the 2nd, they can pick. Some of you snow flakes would really have a meltdown if a 100,000 Law abiding citizens marched up to Washington DC to protest.

If this goes through, would seem that those protests did in fact have a negative effect on gun rights. At the end of the day, it was a temper tantrum lacking any kind of strategic vision for how things could play out. The protestors and the groups supporting them will either have to up the ante or take a seat and wait for the next election.

I think all gun owners should shut up and keep their head down and they won't lose anything. It has worked really well for trapping.

I see your point, and agree it's valid for many other situations. Unfortunately the disagreements over the shutdown in MI had nothing to do with guns, until these protestors chose to bring them to the capitol building in such a fashion.

What does it matter if they had guns or didn't???? A right is a right... I wish that I would see more open carry in our area-- I would "feel" much safer.

If government is allowed to suspend a constitutionally recognized right, then how can anyone say it is a right????????????????????????

If we were facing a real health crisis like the 5% death rate of the 1918 flu, government would not have to force people to quarantine, shut down businesses, and close schools. People would do it voluntarily.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

So what! They chose to use may of their rights that day. Freedom of speech, the right to peaceably assemble and the right to bear arms were but three of them. By the way Coo's, your beloved can do no wrong government crapped on all three with smear campaigns.

The places where laws are made (legislatures) and the places where laws are applied (courts) should be gun-free, in this day and age.

I swear, some of you guys are like the radical gay protesters, who just have to rub everyone's nose in it. If you try to rub everyone's face in the Second Amendment enough, we could lose it.

Jim

Waving arms around is a much different thing than simply carrying arms around, surely you'd agree.

Great Idea, what do you think about Alaska changing its hunting/trapping regulations to be more like other states, like say California or Colorado perhaps? Your regulations will be like other states, shouldn't be a problem with you at all.

I saw zero intimidation, I saw zero angry protesters. I saw what many in Michigan believe were very passionate patriots or hired visual, liberal MSM camera fodder. Strange you toss some homophobe slant in your last sentence, are you holding back some inner desires? Ok to come out, guys here will understand you....

Governor Whitmer probably shouldn't have hired them...
