Anybody notice that tracking is getting even worse or am I just unlucky? The redundancy is ridiculous. I am expecting several packages and all are delayed. According to the tracking some have sat at distribution facilities for days. Others have arrived and departed the same facility 6 times without going anywhere. One of the shipments is onion plants that I am afraid will freeze. The postal service supposedly has lost a lot of volume and a huge amount of revenue so the system shouldn't be overloaded. I am perplexed.

In the last few days I've heard some ads I've only half payed attention to regarding a big postal rate hike. Apparently I'm supposed to contact my congressman or something.
Maybe this has something to do with it.

They have no worries as they can not be held accountable for much they say 2-3 day delivery but won’t guarantee it when it comes down to it. If your onions go bad they won’t cover it they will say it was perishable even if it takes weeks to get there when you paid for 2-3 day delivery.

If you file a claim they get paid well to jerk you around while making a good wage doing so. I had them hold a package of yote tails I sold to a girl that was going to tan them. They held them 30 days then would not pay me back for the 2-3 day postage or for holding the tails 30 days. The said perishable even though it was their screw up.

Yes Corky, USPS is a step or two behind in the last 8 weeks and it's getting worse. I have got items to my buyers showing up 1-2 weeks behind schedule. Going to the same outlet several times. Hopefully they get it figured out soon.

UPS isn't much better, They have lost or held up several shipments from here sent in March that we had to resend new product. I believe it is either plain theft or antis at work who come across the packages and know what we sell and just throw the packages away. UPS rarely pays a claim without lots of headaches.

No issues here. People are getting spoiled I think. If you don’t pay for faster shipping, they ship accordingly. If you think it needs shipped quickly, you need to pay for it.

I ordered an item from Walmart. After a couple of days I received a shipping and arriving e-mail and I checked the arrival day on the USPS Tracking. When the item did not arrive, I gave it a couple more days. I checked the USPS Tracking again, the item never was sent? I contacted Walmart, they told me it was an outside vender and give them 24hrs to investigate the order. 72 hrs later they told me the item wasn't going to be sent and they would give me a refund. The very next day after receiving a refund, it arrived? The USPS Tracking showed no activity which so ever for over a month while waiting for the item? Spoiled? We all are these days... not griping, but just sharing my experience with the USPS Tracking system and Walmart. BTW, this is the only hiccup I can recall.

My tracking numbers usually show it was delivered 3 weeks after it was. The USPS is a typical government run organization. Tons of money wasted. What's worse is that it's unionized and those workers for the most part could care less. At least it was that way when I worked as a temp at the Warrendale, PA. BMC back in the 90's everyone wanted a paycheck and no one wanted to actually work for it. They all though they were just owed it. Just about all of them had horrible work ethics. Temps were pretty much doing the bulk of the work. I never saw so much money wasted in my life. Now I don't know about carriers, they pretty much have to work and my mail lady seems pleasant. Then again, I'm in a very small town.

A couple years ago I was waiting on a pkg to be delivered by USPS. Tracking # said it had been delivered but it hadn't. I wait a week or so, then called the PO when it still wasn't here. Apparently the carrier wears a video camera on his person, as the gal at the PO watched a video and found out he had delivered it to 502 4th St instead of 502 3rd St. She called him, he went and found it still sitting outside on the step, and brought it to me. I was impressed.

Local post office using GPS from the scanner can see where a package was left. Address/ Mail box/ porch. Just contact the office and have them look.

I had the same thing with Fed-x once. I called and told them it wasn't delivered. They said check with your neighbors, maybe it was delivered to the wrong place. I have a neighbor about 1/4 of a mile from me the next closest is two miles. I ask how many mile radius should I check. Your neighbors think its Christmas.

We ship 2,000- 3,000 packages by USPS priority mail every year. The last month has had a lot of delays, a lot of packages not getting scanned at each hub, and a few packages missing.

A huge amount of people calling in sick/Family needs (child care ) due to the current situation especially in high density parts of the country...

A lot of mail is being sent to processing facilities that are halfway across the country from the place it is sent from so that there are people to work that mail.

Sorting Machines are breaking as the preventive maintenance windows are not available in the facilities that are getting the overflow.

All of this stuff and likely some logistical changes that I am not able to imagine adds up which adds time to the delivery times

Been seeing a lot of sellers warning of possible shipping delays on the web so it’s real. The most trouble with the USPO has been with Maine of the handful of packages I have sent to that area 3 had issues 1 lost, 1 beat to crap and 1 held for reasons it was not held for.
